Need to find out what will be vertical reaction on this truss, manuallyhttp://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=0b0003e5-9ce7-4933-825e-eff56d11f5a6&file=Full_page_photo.pdf
The legs of storage racks are usually made of perforated steel columns. Shall I use minimum cross sectional area and section modulus when calculating it's capacity?
Please see attached file. If you design based on Canadian steel code S16-01, the beam (story 6) shows red color but if you see detail, it's formula answer is much less.
I have to design a circular roof 150 feet diameter. Shall I use two way steel truss. by the way what is space frame, is it two way truss? (the roof is flat so nothing parabolic)
AS PER CANADIAN CODE WE NEED TO FIND TORSIONAL SENSITIVITY.
WHICH IS RATIO OF MAXIMUM STORY DRIFT TO AVERAGE DRIFT. DOES ETAB GIVE THIS VALUES IN OUT PUT AUTOMATICALLY?
Torsional warping constant. For certain hat channel section, I can draw in section wizard and can obtain all values except Cw. How to manually calculate it.
We have racks on slab on grade. The rack legs or posts has 3x3 inches steel base plates. We need to check if SOG will not shear out. Any idea. Can we use punching or two way shear method
1. I have to do rough estimation on an existing flat slab.
It follows DDM in one direction only. Can I analyse one direction using DDM?
and if it fails, no need to check in other direction?
2. What is the load path etc in two way slabs? Some in depth on design basis so that I can make more...
I postedt on truss framing forum too but usually I do not get any response by the time I need it. So sorry for double dipping. I have attached a proposed lay out of pre-engineered roof trusses. Plan and tried to draw a 3d. Can you please guide waht mistakes I am doing here?
Any body has any informayion if bolt shear increase and decreas due to repeat load ( no reversal)what is the allowable stress reduction due to fatigue. Thanks.
Someone asked me to design a 6 feet diameter ball to be dropped for new year eve. It will be steel skeleton. What force should I keep in mind to resist?
Contractor who build the pedestrian bridge, also did the connection design of the bridge. Now main consultants say that the connections are flexible and as per there computer Model Bridge will vibrate. I took few people with me and walked over the Bridge. Do not feel anything. By the way is...
I have a 4" composite metal deck floor. Steel deck is obviously ribbed and thickness is 0.036 inch. For 4 feet span factored load is 637 PSF. The wheel of scissor lift exerts 110 psi for 4" x 1.5" area. Now
110 psi = 16000 psf per 4 feet = 4000 psf. So deck is not ok. Now contractor will scream...
