All,
I hope you can help me out with some wording here. Specifically, Appendix 7 7-3 (a)(1), and 7-3 (b)(2).
(a)(1) states, All critical sections shall be radiographed. To me, that's clear, cut, and dry.
(b)(2) states, ...shall be subjected to radiographic examination... I'm struggling...
I'm curious if anyone has any experience of what this materials low temperature toughness characteristics are like? How will it perform at -20, 0, 32 °F?
I have a piece of tubing in which a solid clevis shaft will slip fit into. The wall thickness of the tubing is 1.5", and I require a full penetration weld to connect the clevis to. I believe that both pieces are in the annealed condition. The finished part requires the properties of H1150 -...
Can anyone give me any information on why this material has not been assigned a P Number? Especially considering its equivalents SA-182 F9 forging and SA-217 C12 casting have been (P5B group 1).
Most filler metal manufacturers class ER70S-6 as F-No. 6, A-No. 1. However, both Mn and Si as listed in SFA-5.18 can exceed the limits of QW-442.
So my question is, in order to classify this wire as A-No. 1, do I need a certified MTR from the manufacturer for every lot of wire which we use in...
Hello,
I have recently had a request to prepare a WPS/PQR for welding 321 SS. My question is at what service temperature would this material require a sensitization PWHT? For example, the part we are fabricating will never see a service temp over 450 F.
Thanks in advance.
I have a test coupon 1.25" in thickness. I have deposited .5" of SMAW, .25" GMAW, and .5" of SMAW respectively (GMAW is between SMAW depositions). Is my deposited weld metal thickness (t) for SMAW per QW-451, .5" or 1"?
Thanks in advance.
