I have recently seen some drawings of pressure equipment which do not state a design code, but do state "category/module: A3A". Does anyone know what this means?? It is a complete mystery to me.
We have to design a small pressure vessel (-10°C - 30°C, 50bar) based on a 4" pipe. The client wants to be able to take of the lid numerous times. He thought it would be nice to do this by welding a welding neck flange on top and close it with a blind flange. Well, I learned that you should...
Something weird happened here...
When we make sheetmetal parts, SW(2010) always applies a k-factor for the bend allowance.
Today I got a call that none of my flat pattern are correct for a certain project. I did some investigation and found out that in all the sheetmetal parts a bend deduction...
Here's my problem:
I have a motherload of piping situated inside a frame. When I make a drawing I want the frame to be shown with dashed lines and I want it to be transparent so I can see all piping components, even when they are hidden behind beams.
What is the best way to achieve this?
I've designed a platform assembly which needs holes in it.
Making the holes is a bit tricky since all the surfaces on the platform have an angle or a radius (or both).
THerefore it would be nice if I could mirror a large number of these holes.
My plan was to add the holes as assembly features...
Can't find a proper forum for this question, so I decided to post it here...
My colleague, who orders all the pieces of art that we produce with SW, is complaining that we do not state amount-numbers on part drawings.
I tried to convince him several times that amounts should never be stated on...
How can I add a dimension in an aligned section view, without having to perform tricks (like adding hidden points) to avoid the following message:
"A dimension cannot be created between the two halves of an aligned section view. The dimension value would be projected in the section view and may...
We have to put our solidworks models into the model of our client. So we need to open their model in Solidworks.
The best way to import their model is if they cut their model up into 5 different groups of elements and export them as as 5 seperate SAT files (memory-reasons!).
When we import...
Hi there,
I have been playing with a system using a Quadro FX560 managing the mainscreen and a Geforce 7500 managing a second screen. I have checked this also in the Nvidia control panel.
After installing the latest Quadro drivers, Solidworks Rx shows the Geforce card as the card Solidworks is...
I am preparing to build a new system for home use.
I would like to be able to run SW on this new system for the sporadic days that I am fed up with the office :o) , but I also want to play the occasional 3D shooter to for example get rid of all my frustrations after one of those less successful...
