    Use of vacuum breaker

    I have a circuit (circulating water) equiped with a vacuum breaker. I don't know the reason for such a equipment. Can you give me some reasons to install a vacuum breaker in a normally water solid circuit. Thanks in advance.

    What is your recommandation for the maximum velocity of water in a stainless steel pipe? What are the limitating phenomena (abrasing, pipe vibrations, ...)? Thanks in advance
