how does the R value in UBC91 compare with the R value in UBC 97. For example is it appropriate to change an R value of 7 in UBC 91 and change it to an "equivalent" R value of 10 in UBC 97?
Does anyone have experience in welding AISI 4140 material to ASTM A36 material? Can I use E70xx electrodes? Is preheat and postheat necessary? I contacted AWS and they had no help on this.
How does one determine the allowable live load on a platform? Case in point, a maintenance platform is to be placed under a piece of of equipment. The purpose of the platform is to provide maintenance access to change out a 500 pound valve. Any ideas would be helpful. Thanks.
Does anyone have any experience in the use of Calcium Aluminate Cement or Magnesium Phosphate Concrete for elevated floor slabs. Are they appropriate for use in elevated floor slabs in lieu of standard concrete.
