Hello everyone,
We need to specify some pump type for skimmed/recovered oil transportation. It seems both gear pump and air diaphragm pump applicable for this service. Could you please advise which one is better and why it's that? Your help would be appreciated.
Thx first.

API 675 states that direct mechanical diaphragm pump is out of the scope. does that refer to the air controlled diaphragm pump? if air diaphragm can't refer to API 675, does that mean only manufacturer's standard applicable? Thanks for your information.
Hi everybody,
How are you?
Could you please give me some hint on when to request a mechanical run test for API 610 pump? is it related to pump hp or head or flow rates? Thank you.
All the best,
Hi everybody,
How are you?
I have to decide if mechnical run test is needed for some small API pumps. Could you please give me any hints on it? Thank you.
All the best,
I prepared a RFQ package for CSA Z245.1 Gr. 359 Cat.I pipe, 24", 600# . Why did most vendor quote back as API 5L X52 or X60? How to evaluate the difference? I didn't find the answer from the two Standards. Can anybody provide help to make it straight for me? Thanks in advance.
One friend is currently working on a small design problem and need some mechanical analysis done, if any of you could give him a hand it would be much appreciated

I googled two websites for conversion of gauge to micron, but one shows that 1 gauge =o.254 microns, while the other shows that 1 gauge=25.4 microns, with 1000 times difference. The two websites are listed below:

If we know that a pump's BHP is 23.4HP, what should it be in the unit of kW? When I use the unit converter in the internet, there are there are four kinds of hoursepower choices: horsepowers (Water),horsepowers (international),horsepowers (electric),horsepowers (metri). In this case, which unit...
when we design piping or pipeline, when to use design pressure, when to use maximum operating pressure? when we size the thickness, what to use? what 's the difference between piping design and pipeline design?
what's the difference between design pressure and MOP?
As for pipeline tie-in, can I...
Is there a website or link I can get the steel pipe's thickness? for example, I found for the 114.3mm OD pipe, the thickness can be 4.8mm, can be 3.2mm. I ever searched one website: http://www.traceapplications.com/charts/Pipe_Dimensions_and_Weights.htm
But it shows that there is no such...
I'm confused at the concept of MOP, design pressure for pipeline design. What's the difference? When we size the pipe, we use design pressure or MOP? when we determine test pressure, we should use design pressure or MOP? Another thing, pipeline has ANSI rating, which is corresponding to a...
Hi, friends,
Do you know how to convert the river lot system to section-township-range system? I have a survey drawing shown with lots number, but i need to know the section number in the twp-range system. Thanks al ot
There is a question " what would you do if you find for a boiler the leg (shell)'s thickness is not big enough?" Could you please help me with this question?
