    EZ-Shear Wall for ®ETABS v1.1

Does anyone know where I can get a copy of this software which can design check shear walls by importing pier/spandrel forces directly from ETABS? The website www.structuralaps.com was referenced on another thread but it no longer exists. I would really appreciate any assistance in sourcing a...

    J&L Hooked Bolts - ACI 318-05 Appendix D

ACI 318-05 Appendix D allows the use of J or L hooked bolts and D.5.3.5 covers the equation used to calculate the pullout strength in tension. Is there a value for Abrg that can be used in D.5.4.1 for the side-face blowout strength of a J or L bolt? If so, how is it calculated?

Pile Supports to Heavy Raft Foundation

Consider the following hypothetical situation. I have a heavy reinforced concrete raft foundation pad, 400mm thick which will be constructed on a loose to medium dense sand. The Geotechnical Report recommends that the foundations should be constructed on piles to reduce differential settlement...

Basement Floor Slab on Piled Foundation

I am currently designing a 3 storey reinforced concrete structure over basement on a very loose sand/silt sub-grade. The Geotechnical Investigation Report recommends bored piles for the foundations. The basement of this building will be subjected to ground water ingress so I wish to tank the...

Use of FLOAD Command in STAAD/Pro

I have encountered a problem using the FLOAD Command in Staad/Pro 2000. If the Fload command is used using the YRANGE parameter only, the distribution of loads throughout the floor in question appears to be calculated correctly. However, if one uses the Fload Command to apply an overall floor...

Traverse Spacing of Shear Reinf. in Wide Concrete Beams

In ACI 318 I cannot find any direct provision for the traverse spacing of shear stirrups in wide reinforced concrete beams (1m +). The code only seems to refer to the standard longitudinal spacing of stirrups using 2 legs. Can anyone give me some guidelines on this topic? Regards Mike B-)

    Plastic Wood Composite Sections

Does anyone out there know of any Plastic Wood Manufacturer who can produce a composite plastic wood section with a tubular steel insert? As you know plastic wood is very flexible with a low E value. The addition of a steel tube in the center of the cross-section would improve properties enormously.
