    Online Classes

Hi, Would anyone recommend taking an online course to learn embedded hardware design? It is being taught at a local university. Never took an online engineering course before and don't know how effective it would be. Thanks, swb1

    Best Way To Generate 2 Clocks - 33 MHz & 64 MHz

Hi, Instead of using 2 separate oscillators, is there a way to generate both 33MHz and 64Mhz with 1 device?? The values don't divide evenly. Please let me know. Thanks, swb1

1:1:1 Transformer is outputting 1/2 the Voltage

Hi, I am using a 1:1:1 transformer and I have +/- 3.25V going in and +/- 1.6V coming out. Why is this?? Shouldn't the voltage going in be the same as the voltage going out?? I have a differential op amp driving the transformer and 0 Ohm series resistors on the + and - output pins of the op amp...

    Puzzling Pulse Transformer output

Hi, I am pulsing a 1:1 pulse transformer with a 600 ns pulse and when I send 3 consecutive '1' the pulses on the output satrt to get smaller (about 350 ns). If I send 2 consecutive '1' the pulses on the output are fine. I tried putting a 1N4001 diode across the primary and secondary sides of...

    Using Analog Switches

Hi, Has anyone switched between two circuits using an analog switch before? I have 2 serial outputs: one with .6V and another with 3.25V, where I want to allow a user to switch between the two outputs as they wish. Is there a slick way of doing this that anyone knows?? Thanks, swb1

    How to speed up Fmax

Hi, I put a timing requirement on my clk signal and after I run through synthesis (VHDL code), I get a warning saying that Fmax could not be met. The part is pretty full (98%) and I can't change the part at this point in time. Any suggestions on how I can speed up Fmax?? Thanks, swb1

    Help with MOSFETs

Hi, Using power Mosfet MGSF1N03LT1 (On Semiconductor), the FET takes a long time to turn off (1.2 microsecs.). Why is this?? I need for it to turn off quicker. Any suggestions on different Mosfets that will turn off quicker with the same characteristics as the On Semiconductor part?? Thanks, swb1
