It seems everytime I try to bind a reference file, Acad comes back with an "*Invalid*" and will not let me. Is there a specific setting or way to bring in reference files so that the program will actually bind them. using Acad 2002.

I have a Acad2002 drawing with several other files attached. I will freeze layers of the referenced files in the drawing and save it, but when I go back into the drawing the layers are thawed. Does anyone know why and how to fix it? Or is it just a bug?
