If this is a duplicate question: I apologize,
but in recent additions of SolidWorks (2020-2022) - the Floor Shadow/Floor Reflection automatically comes ON.
How do I make it so the Floor Shadow/Floor Reflections are OFF by default? It's certainly no trouble to turn them off manually, but it's...
So I have a detail view that won't stay displayed. Usually when this happens, I change the view state from 'Hidden Lines Visible' to 'Shaded With Edges' - or vice versa. I do this once and it never gives me trouble in that session again.
This time though my little trick doesn't work. It's...
...So, I've got about 16 separate models - and one drawing containing a table with parametric values not linked to the individual models.
Would my correct course of action be (1) pull values from all the different models or (2) create one file with 16 different configurations, and have said...
What do you think was SolidWorks biggest improvement, from one version to the next - in the last 15 or so years?
My vote would be the Bill of Materials - and not having to use the old Excel imbedded format. - it always caused me problems.

If you're extruding a lofted profile from a rectangle (4 sides) to a polygon (20 sides) how do you control where the indentations show?
I don't care whether the answer is sheet metal specific or not, I can figure out the alternative.

In previous versions of SolidWorks, I had learned to make a 'dome' with SolidWorks Surfacing - now there's this handy-dandy 'dome' feature. It's been around for several years, I think. What would the harm being using this 'dome' feature now? (It certainly is easier.)

Is this possible now? It wasn't possible in 2012 for the sheet metal part to automatically be updated. Maybe now?

I'm not using SW 2015 yet. Anybody know if there's a text wrap feature on Stacked Balloon Callout?

This is super-simple - it's got to be. I just don't know how to search for it - I think. I know how to design parts with IF/THEN equations - no problem.

...And I want to make it easy for manufacturability for the first shot - and I want a very slight score mark for where one part should be welded to another. (This won't be necessary after this first run.) - Is there a way to call out such a 'score mark?'

I hate to ask a question I definitely have known the answer to, but sometimes when SolidWorks upgrades to newer versions some simple things are hard to find. The question:
When I import a decal from a *.jpg file, how do I import it, and NOT have it pattern. I just want one decal, not 78 all...
I realize that this is a fairly insane question, however my boss doesn't like for the tables I create in SolidWorks Drawings to stick to anything else.
Is there a way to make tables unstick - like getting rid of the magnetic line for callout bubbles?

Is there a way to stack bubbles horizontally, and vertically at the same time? I want to horizontally stack the components, and underneath stack the specific configuration. If there is such a way, I don't want the B.O.M. to contain the same detail as the component callout bubbles. Is this...
Is this possible yet? Any time you want to 'add to stack' - the latest balloon comes at the end of the callout. If you want to re-order a stack, is there a way to do this, without deleting the stack - and hitting the items in the proper sequential order?

...but I can't find it.
If you rename your parts in SolidWorks Explorer, is there a setting somewhere that tells your parts to retain their old name in existing assemblies?

What's the best way to troubleshoot macros? (I'm entirely ignorant of all things macro - at this time.) - If I get an error message- 'An API Call Exited Abnormally' - I figure it's a macro that I inherited from a model - that I didn't create. If it comes to it, I'd be happy to attach my model...
'An unknown error...' - what does this mean? I thought it might be a disassociated file, but - I can't resolve it like I normally do. Thoughts?
Thanks in advance.
