For FM intrinsically safe approval of a internally amplified pressure transducer, do they impose any design or testing requirement on the pressure sensor itself?
Is it the same with CSA approval?

Does anyone have thoughts on TIG welding Inconel X750 to 316L stainless steel?
I want to weld a 3/4" "rod" of inconel to a "thick wall tube" of 316 (3/4" id). The parts would be slid together so the ends are even and the welded at the interface of the two parts. No filler metal.

After polishing disks of 17-4PH SST to around 0.5 microinch Ra finish, I have enough pits on the surface that it effects the yield of my product.

1) Are the pits likely existing voids in the material?
