I heard there was an aerospace version of this called "ISquawk".
Does anyone have knowledge of any app/software like this? Would be similar to what a Home Inspector would use when doing a house inspection. See the defect, take a picture and then come back after the defect is repaired and...
I work for an Aerospace manufacturing company. We build part for Boeing, Spirit, Cessna, Gulfstream, Airbus, etc. We are trying lean out our inspection system. Currently the process is extremely manual. I saw an APP on my IPhone that was for inspectors that inspect properties (homes, real...
I work in a company that builds aerospace product for OEMs (Spirit, Textron, Boeing, Gulfstream, Airbus, Northrop, etc)
We have "planners" and we have machine programming. We do not have anyone really focus on Manufacturing Engineering principles. ALL engineers are under "ENGINEERING", but...
The specification we are dealing with come from Boeing. The specification states that ALL dimensions are BEFORE finish. The ID of the bearing is coated with .0002-.0005 dry lube. The before dry Lube diameter is .9995-1.0015. IF dry lube is NOT a finish then the end diameter would be in the...
Not sure if this is the right place to post this... but here goes.
I am a QE developing standards or (best practices) procedure for Machine Operators (Lathe, CNC Mill, Manual Mach, etc). One of the aspects is inspecting the parts that come off the of the machine throughout the run. Does anyone...
We have a Zeiss CMM with Calypso software. I had some experience on a B&S using PC Dmis software. In PC Dmis when you wanted to run multiple parts you would run the manual alignment on the first part and then after that you did not have to do any more alignments as long as the succeeding parts...
I am not sure if this is the correct forum to ask this. See attached picture. I am trying to find out the dimension of "X". If anyone knows the formula for this please let me know.
Thanks
We have the following issue:
We have a shaft Outside threads. The Go Gage will not "GO". However, the parts fit to the mating part AND the mating part checks "good" using Thread Plug Gage.
How can this happen?
(see attached figure)
The only requirement on the print for the keyway is the width and length (from opposite side of ID to flat of keyway).
here are the questions:
Is this keyway "implied to be on center"?
If so, what would be the tolerance?
If engineering does NOT need the keyway to be on the...
I work in aerospace industry. Obviously we do A LOT of drilling and riveting. My question is that we have a high reject rate for Counter sinks being the incorrect size. Are there any tools/devisces that would mistake proof the drill bit(s) to where it would virtually impossible to drill a bad...
If there is not a "circularity" requirement on the the drawing then is there an "assumed" circularity tolerance on any given diameter. I.E. a percentage of the nominal size?
Our company is purchasing an Automated CMM. I have had experience in programming/operating Brown & Sharpe CMM's with PCDMIS software. It seems the Zeis "sales pitch" caters to the person that knows nothing about CMM's or programming of CMM's (more user friendly for the beginner). My concern...
We build electromechanical motors (ac & dc). We are having an issue with bearings in a particular motor drawing "high amps" during testing. We have traced the issue down to the change in bearings. One of the questions that has been raised is "Could the bearings have been magnetized? If so...
Bare with me as I am new to Catia software and UG software.
Is there the an option to set up the "dimensional callout displays" to always face "forward" while the model is rotated?
I want to capture the callouts in 2D, but when I rotate the model to show where a callout is "pointing" you can...
