How to create a simulation model for isenthalpic (adiabatic) flash?

When I size two phase PSV, I need to run HYSYS for an isenthalpic (adiabatic) flash calculation at 90% of relief pressure to calculate the vapour specific volume. Could someone guide me how to set up this HYSYS model. The service is condensate, tow phase will be water and steam. Thanks in advance.

    Nitrogen Stainless Steel Piping

Our client needs a 3" nitrogen transferring piping system with 70,000 scfh flow rate under 100 psig pressure. The client engineer indicated they would like to use stainless steel piping. I just wonder what is the reason behind that? Thanks advance.

    Cycles N / Factor f

Hello, everyone, This question comes in my mind today suddenly. According to B31.3, if SE<SA, the piping system could pass the displacement stress analysis. SA=f(1.25Sc+0.25Sh) or SA=f(1.25(Sc+Sh)-SL) Either of those two equations depends on Factor f, or say, Cycles N. Let's assume there are two...

    Refrigeration machinery room ventilation

According to CSA B52 clause 7.10, the room ventilation required to exhaust is based on the system refrigeration charges. What I know now is the HP of the ammonia compressor. How could I estimate the exhaust fan flow rate? Thanks ahead.

    Main Steam Line Condensate

Hi,everyone, I need a thought about Main Steam Line Condensate. I have a 4.5km buried steam line @ 150psi. Beside this pipe lays a 15psi condensate line. I want to trap this main to the condensate pipe (Now the condensate just be drained to U/G). The load in the steam line is 90% for heating...

    Trace Load 700 Question

Could anyone answer my question please. I want to calculate the heating and cooling load of a small locker room. The area is 500 sq.ft.. To reach the outside air requirement, vent airflow is 0.5cfm/sq.ft.. The system is VAV w/ Baseboard Heating. After the calculation, I got a funny result on...

    Condensate Brass Pipe

Does anyone know what the surport span of brass pipe is, say, 1-1/2" condensate line, 220F degree? In B31.1 or B31.3, the Maximum Allowable Values for Carbon Steel (A106) is much greater than Brass (B43), 20ksi vs. 8ksi. Does that mean the brass piping system needs more loop to overcome...
