Hi, long time no post...!
I cannot make this work, I have two parallel pieces, the blue one is fixed and the handle uses two pivot points, once one of the extremes of the small path reaches the end, it becomes the pivot for the rest of the movement of the large path.
What I did:
- added a...
Hi, I just finished a meat grill and it heavier than I expected, the grill is moved up/down by a crank.
I would like to know how to calculate the length of the crank so the force needed to move is not to much, for example I need my wife to be able to turn it.
Here is a schematic, the axle...
Im trying to understand how to mate a rack and a pinion. Here is where I am so far http://peu.net/temp/rack-pinion.zip in the file you will find a rack, a pinion and the assembly.
If you guys can point me in the right direction I will appreciate. TIA !!

Hi, I would like to make a SW 3D model of some dxf's
These files are bent profiles with instructions to be laser marked and then cut and bended
Here is one file: http://peu.net/temp/bendquestion.zip
Whats the shortest path to make a 3D model of it? I have 23 files to model :)
Thanks in advance
Hi, as part of a clutch assembly I need to redo this piece:
but I need the peak and valleys to be the same, so two similar pieces can be engaged together.
I made a cilinder and the I started drawing on the top surface a 45º triangle from its center to a few mm's away of the diameter and...
Im trying to model a pyramid like the egiptian pyramids, Im probably missing something, but I tried angled planes 3dsketches and other aproaches and I can't get what I want.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Hi, I would like to know how to apply a textured surface, like an orange peel:
This is a prototype reflector I want to test by making a rapid prototype of it (like the part that supports it).
I searched the forum, but found nothing, maybe Im not using the proper search terms :)
Thanks in advance
Hi, I would like to know how to place the first object of an assembly at the origin, for example a cilindric shape, so when I use the cut view it automatically shows half the piece.
Also it would be helpfull to know how to move to the origin an assembly that started off axis.
Thanks in advance!
I created a simple extrusion and an extruded cut inside it., then I created an off center and tilted axis and made a circular pattern out of them:
Now I want to remove all the intersections inside the new formed body, keeping only the new formed perimeter.
How can I do this in SW2006?
Thanks
I generated this IGES file of a parabola (http://peu.net/temp/ref2.igs), and I want to create a more complex part using the inner parabola segment to create a sketch.
How can this be done?
Thanks
I'm drawing a router:
When I started I drawn the whole unit in a single assembly, and I can see all the axis movements without problems.
Then when the assembly grew complicated I decided to separate every axis into its own subassembly, and now I have this problem:
1st axis assembly and...
How can I change the origin of an assembly?
When I want to do a cut view in the one Im working (extruded 80x30mm tube) I have to move almost 80mm to cut the piece at mid section.
Thanks!
Hi, I'm making a drawing of a finished piece, I entered all the dimensions I see are relevant, but SW still says the drawing is under defined.
Is there a simple way to know what measurement is missing?
Using the autodimension makes the drawing unreadable, thats why I avoid it.
Thanks
Well, I did the 1st 5 online tutorials and I'm amazed on the amount of things you can do with just that. However I have some mixed questions:
After making an assembly, mating some parts and using the exploded view button I cannot mate more parts to the assembly because the mate button is grayed...
Hi, my 1st post to the forum.
I'm a long term Coreldraw user and I want to begin drawing in 3d, from what I read, SW is the best cad available.
I would like to know if there is any FREE tutorial for beginners on the web.
If not, what is the best way to begin using SW? I'm designing some...
