I could sketch a rectangle behind the column and fill/hatch it. That seems a bit 'dirty' though.

Does anybody know how to filter an instance out of a (repeat regioned) table on a family table drawing ?
I can get rid of unwanted parameters using the repeat region > filters > edit command.
Alas it does not filter out instances.
