    Shifting linkage adjustment

    I had to cut the 2nd gear shift are on the steering wheel, to allow room, for a dual exhust manifold on my 1941 chevy. What can I do too make it shift smoothly again? I have tried all the adjustments. Will cutting the other arm, the same amount, help? Thanks; Dick Lyon dplyon@adelphia.net
