Jon,
The title says it all. I can't change my e-mail address. I retired and my old company e-mail address is no longer valid. In Account Details, I click "Change" beside the old e-mail address. I get a text box that asks for my password and I hit "Save", and, then, nothing happens. Help!

I received an e-mail from Eng-Tips from your "Send a Comment to Latexman About This FAQ". I understand your message, "Can i pls have a copy of: Safety Valve with Ideal Gas.xls". Yes, you can. Unfortunately, my e-mail to you could not be delivered. The postmaster said...
When sizing relief devices, I frequently come across old tanks and vessels that do not state a design pressure/MAWP. One of our plants has this issue now. They contracted with a local Engineering firm (Italy) to guide us on what the design pressure/MAWP is.
Their report says, “Analysis was...

The first thing that crossed my mind when I read it was, the "political spin" the writer wanted to impart. How many believe that only Republicans are changing their opinions...

Mrs. Latexman called me yesterday at 9 a.m. No sound on the family room TV. That's never happened before. It was fine the night before. I told her call the cable company and see if they are having issues. That's usually the problem. That afternoon, she said still no sound, and I've tried...
I noticed last night that Mrs. Latexman's new van doesn't have the usual power steering fluid reservoir. Electric steering! Now I know why the steering is so effortless. But some of the "feel of the road" seems to have been lost. I guess this is the future given all the news about...
I'm looking at a 1952 drawing of a CS, 100 psig, vertical, 10'-6" dia. x 18'-10" tall pressure vessel with 2:1 elliptical heads. General note says "125 psi hydrostatic, at which hammer all welds and conn. with a 6 lb. hammer, then 150 psi." Why? Just curious.
Good luck,

Most of our processes get changed over time. More capacity is needed, new chemicals come along, process condition changes are recommended by R&D, etc.
In parallel, relief calculation methods improve and standards change.
The wheels of progress keep turning on all fronts as time goes on. Some...
We have a tank where one or more different chemicals are charged, mixed, and then fed to the reactors. After the last addition and before mixing, we currently flush the line to the tank with water to get all the active ingredients into the tank.
We want to stop using flush water and use...
