Hi,
Our office is new to using Pro/E... We only have a couple of guys working with it now, and our administrator isn't too familiar with everything.
I'm curious if there is anyway to get some default system symbols from the installation discs? I really don't have many symbol options to choose...
Is there a way to make a mirrored object truly independent of its parent feature in Pro 2001???
I'm trying to mirror a curve on both sides of a datum plane. The rest of the geometry around this datum curve is slightly different, and I'd like to modify the mirrored curve slightly to fit the...
I'm trying to put a round into my model. Ultimately, I'd like to have a variable round.
Here's what's weird though...
If I put in a constant round on this edge with a radius of 16, the round goes in just fine. When I try to turn the round into a variable round - and if I select just the...
Hi,
I'm wondering if there's an easy way to get cross sectional area of a "pipe" (or tube if you will) normal to a curve through the middle of the tube?
I've used the behavior modeling before, but I don't have access to a license now.
The method I'm using has been putting points on the curve...
I'm asking this for a buddy of mine.
He's new to UG (NX) and is having problems drafting surfaces. As far as he knows, he can only select a plane or an edge as the neutral reference for the drafting angle. He wants to know if it's possible to select a surface as the neutral reference.
Can...
Why is it that if I suppress all but the first feature of a model and save it to disk that the file size is considerably smaller than if I saved the same model with all the features in a resumed state?
This really makes no logical sense to me. All of the same information is contained within the...
Does anyone have any advice for how to handle model revisions with a customer?
Our company only has one pro/e seat (for now) so we don't use Intralink. We're doing some design work with a company in Korea. Instead of having to learn all their drawing standards, they are doing the drawings for...
I know it's possible to set all the datum curves in a model to one particular color (the default is an orange-ish color).
But, is it possible to independently set the color of datum curves (in pro/e 2001)? What I'd like to do is be able to create one datum curve, set it one color, create...
I don't know if there's something wrong with my pro/e settings or what, but I'm no longer able to pick multiple features in my model tree (selecting ctrl+ features does not work).
Does anyone know how to fix this problem?
Hi,
I'm wondering if it's at all possible to offset a sketched line within a sketch.
For example, say I sketch a profile of lines and curves. Now, say I want to offset that profile by a distance of 1 inch (or whatever the value) within the same sketch, so that I have two "parallel"...
Hi,
I'm trying to create a copy geom feature in one of the parts I have in my assembly.
I've selected modify... part... feature... create... data sharing... and when I try to select Copy Geom I can't because it's greyed out. How/what do I need to do to select it?
We recieved a model from one of our customers. I'm fairly familiar with Pro/E as I've been using it the past 4 or 5 years. However, I'm not familiar with the features that are in this model.
We're using pro/e 2001 and inside the model tree, the icons next to the features in question are blue...
I've been trying to make some minor changes to a model now for the last 5 hours.
I've been trying all different methods, and I haven't had any luck.
After some close investigation, I've found something that really bothers me (I feel as though I've wasted the last 5 hours of my day).
When I...
I'm trying to show a 1/2 degree angle between two lines in a drawing, but Pro/E thinks I'm trying to show the distance between where I pick on the two lines.
Is there a way to force Pro/E to show an angle dimension between lines that aren't quite parallel?
Can someone enlighten me on how to plot from Pro/E on a UNIX box?
I've been using pro on a PC for about 4 years now and can plot just fine.
Now, I'm working on a UNIX box and I'm not sure how to plot.
I think the problem is with the plotter command:
I know it needs "lp...
I'm working on a slow machine (the only one available) trying to do some work on a somewhat large assembly drawing.
Every time I go in and change the tolerance display on a dimension, when I zoom out - I have to wait for the drawing to regenerate which is taking about 3-5 minutes each time...
Can anyone help me out here with some drawing layer problems???
I'm working on a relatively small assembly (10 or so components). There are 4 parts that I've recieved from a customer. In these parts the layers are totally whacked. The rest are my parts with layers that make sense (at least to...
Our company would like to start putting Excel and PowerPoint files into our Intralink database and be able to have some revision control just like with our pro/e files.
I've logged into our Intralink account using the administrator password and I've added .xls and .ppt file types.
However, I...
Our company has just started using intralink.
Over the past few years, I've really grown accustomed to being able to go back to an older version of a file if I make a mistake (ie being able to open widget.prt.1 when I screw up widget.prt.2).
I've noticed though that when I'm working in my...
I'm wondering if there's an easy way to model some "liquid" in Pro/E.
For example, say I am modeling an airplane. Within the hull, there are a lot of nooks and crannies filled with some small assemblies. I'd like to be able to fill the body full of "fuel" so that it fills up...
