NR-13 Appendix III, 1.a. states that P*V >8kPa * m3 are pressure vessels.
It would therefore seem that NR-13 classifies a tank 6m dia x 6m high with 0.25kPag pressure (42kPa*m3) as a pressure vessel.
However, in North America this tank would be designed to API 650, not ASME BPVC.

UHX-13.4 d. states that 'the designer shall consider the effect of the defections in the tube sheet design, especially when the tube sheet thickness is less than the tube diameter.
Does anyone know which section of the Code we have to use to calculate the defection and what the allowable is...
I am designing piping for two fire-tube boilers (58MW each) that are directly coupled to a single furnace without dampers. There is no way to heat one boiler without heating the other.
First question:
The shutoff valves for the single line that feeds both boilers are located upstream of two...
Can someone please explain to me how 'additive' seal legs work?
I have a seal leg, which must be designed to relieve pressure above 80kPag.
Rather than using only 1 water filled seal leg 8 metres high, I have been told that I can use 4 seals in series - each approximately 2 metres high (due to...
