Tearout of a pin in hole.

Can any one point me to a standard or a study that says bending can be ignored if a pin's diameter is at least 90% of the hole diameter? Thanks in advance.

Crane boom directly over a turbine exhaust stack

I need advice on selecting a consultant to advise me on how hot a Crane boom directly over a turbine exhaust stack will get. On oil rigs we have used cranes very close to exhaust stacks but not actually in the plume. My concern is that heat transfer chages from radiation to cunduction. Thanks...

    Custom properties of sub-assemblies

In a drawing of a multi-level assembly, I want to link text to a sub-assembly's custom properties, not its' components. Balloons do this automatically, but I can not find a way to do this with a note.

    Locked out of Database

One of my colleagues gets the following error message:- Unable to open master database due to the following database access error: The Microsoft Jet database engine cannot open the '\\inov8\solidworks data\lang\english\SWBrowser.mdb'. It is already opened exlusively by another user, or you...

Shut off face in a mold.

Hi I am new to mold design, because I am new to moulded parts. I have designed a clip into an injection moulding. The access hole to eliminate the undercut, has its own function, and is not a silhouette of the clip. I was not surprised that SWX could not automatically create a core and cavity...

    $PARTNUMBER in drawings

Hi, I want to use the "$PARTNUMBER" field (of a part) in my drawing title box. It works so well for BOM tables, when using multiple configurations. But I can not get it to work in a drawing. I am using SWX 2006 without PDMWorks. Colin

Splines that don't slide - but should.

I am designing an assembly station in which a splined hub and shaft are assembled. "99 times out of 100"", the shaft will just slide into the hole under its own weight. But some times it will need a bit of help. Call me cynical but I was not surprised to learn that nobody could quantify a...

    Custom Properties API -"AddCustomInfo3"

I am trying to modify an API that adds custom property data to parts. I use :- For m = 0 To 3 retval = Part.AddCustomInfo3("", MyProp(0, m), 30, MyProp(1, m)) Next m Which works if the custom property did not previously exist. What do I have to do overwrite an existing value?
