    Video Problems

Good Morning, Does anyone out there have a list of settings that minimizes the work that the video card has to do? I have a sun station that is good in every way except that when zooming in and out or spinning a big model, the task manager shows 100%. I have made the changes that I thought would...

    detailing sloped piping

We are having some hot debates here pertaining to detailing piping drawings. When you show a pipe that slopes into or out of the paper, you can only show the 'flat' dimension on the drawing (east-west, let's say). This does not show the 'true length' because you still have to trig this out by...

    centered pop-ups

How can I keep the "THESE OBJECTS WILL ALSO BE DELETED" etc. pop-ups from jumping in right in the middle of the screen and blocking my view? I always have to move this window to see what else will be deleted...or whatever else the menu states. Any clues?

    flange orientation

Can someone tell me why most piping diamgrams show drilled holes in bolted flanges straddling the vertical centerline, so as to not have a hole at top dead center? Thanks

    Cannot insert part

Good morning - Here's the puzzle of the day: I have an assembly of approx 30 parts and when I slide the 'insert' arrow up to insert a new part, it won't allow the placement but instead slides the part back down to the bottom of the tree. It's not because of a group thing - I don't think it's an...

    Definition of Elevations

I am doing facility piping and need to show plan views and elevations. I always thought that the side that faces south is the south elevation but can't seem to find this in a document. Any suggestions? I need a document to change some confused policy with a customer. Thanks

    Definition of North Elevation

Can someone tell me where I might find the exact definition of an elevation? Such as "Facing the side that faces south you are at the North Elevation". I could use a document stating this. Thanks

adding sheet numbers to print label

I've got a quick question for you guys - how can I add page sequence numbers to the label that prints oin the border of my drawings? This may sound redundant but my customer uses a non-standard drawing numbering system that does not include the normal (sht 1 of 4, sht 2 of 4...) type of number...

    Autocad or WF2 for schematics

Here's a question: if you could use A/cad or WF2 for creating and maintaining a set of schematics, which would you choose? I have imported acad dwgs into Ilink with success but I'm trying hard to find any true benefit in doing so. Also, Intralink can work with acad, word, excel etc...but it adds...

    'Certs Required' note on drawings

I'm getting requests to add a note to various drawings stating that certs (sometimes both material and process verification) be supplied along with parts. I am accustomed to putting this requirement on the P.O. but never on the drawing. The thing that I am concerned about is that the next...

    Documents in Intralink

    Approved Vendor Callouts

Has anyone started to use 'www.vendor.com' - type callouts instead of 'address, phone/fax number' on their drawings? I have my thoughts when I look up a vendor on the net, get all of my information, and then put the name, address and phone number on the drawing, knowing that the purchasing...
