    Odd Teelateral Purpose

I'm not sure if this post is appropriate, but I just had to ask. Does anyone have an idea of what this multi-branch 'teelateral' would be for (assuming it's not a joke)? I'd have called it an octo-tee or something, but there appears to be more than eight branches.

    Eccentric Reducers

The below is copied from an article written by Gordon Reddek for Piping Design Central. I've been unable to contact Mr Reddek for a few years. http://www.pipingdesign.com/eccentric_reducers.html What are your comments on his thoughts about the correct orientation of FOB/FOT? ========= As you...

    Pipeline Sabotage

In areas that have risk of damage from, uh, let's say, ballistic violence or non-internal pressure-induced explosions, why aren't the lines buried? Is it a cost factor? It would seem to me that technology advances in trenching would make this more economical especially if combined with sensors...

    Jamnagar Refinery Project

I'm not sure if this is appropriate for this forum but it sure is an impressive set of photos of a refinery under construction: http://www.pipingdesign.com/images/reliance_refinery.pdf "Reliance Industries plans to complete its ambitious $5.7 billion expansion of Jamnagar Refinery Project...

    PSV Discharge Piping

What is the difference between these terms on a P&ID: -Free draining -No pockets -Slope All of these refer to the concept of preventing (via piping configuration) liquid build-up (possibly due to condensation) downstream of the safety valve in order to avoid backpressure on the PSV spring...

    Navco Piping Datalog

RE: thread378-24153 (now closed) A member of my piping design discussion group mentioned today that copies of the Datalog are available for US$50 from: http://www.basicpsa.com/navco_piping_datalog.htm I hope this doesn't sound like an ad (I have no affiliation with the seller) as my...

    Control Valves and Eccentric Reducers

For steam service, bottom flat reducers upstream of control valves are recommended to minimize the possible accumulation of condensate and sediment. Is the same configuration preferred for other fluids as well? One other reason for FOB (flat on bottom) reducers in control stations with up and...
