Dear all
We have recently started a discussion on ocygen analysers located in incinerators (thermal oxiders) at the tail end of sulphur units(claus).
In this location the licensor have decided that an oxygen analyser in the incinerator is not needed.
From the previous plants I have been at the...
I have a question with respect to residual oxygen concentration in a process unit, vessel etc after inerting.
The usual limit of oxygen (in nitrogen) I have usd in refineries are 0.5 or 1.0 vol% after an inerting step. The the inerting is regarded to be complete and accepted. However looking at...
I have been searching (in vain) for a correlation between oxygen content and ignition temperature for sulphur. In particular, for sulphur condensed in the reactor (on and in the catalyst) of a Claus reactor.
If a run-away take place one can extinguish the "fire" with nitrogen or steam (acc. to...
A have a question related to concrete pits used for liquid sulphur storage (wihtin oil refineries). Since the 50-60's liquid sulphur has been collected in concrete fabricated pits. The liquid sulphur is about 140-150 °C. Usually after 20 years or so cracks in the concrete starts to be a problem...
Hi
Present sulphur specification for Jet (aviation) fuel is 0.3 wt%, in a number of countries around the globe. Have anybody out there seen any talks about lowering the specification to e.g. 500 or 1000 wtppm, and if so are there any timeline set to it?
I would expect sulphur to be the next...
