Every day we find ourselves to issue numerous procedures, instructions, reports and painting certificates, by manually entering the same data more than once in different MS Word or Excel files.
I feel the need for a tool in which I can enter the data set of each single supply once and for...
The February 2015 edition of the Shell DEP 39.01.10.12-Gen. specification still amends and supplements ISO 15156:2009 standard, which in the meantime has been superseded by ANSI / NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156:2015.
(See also thread338-420050 for more background on previous editions).
Is Anyone...
I’m not sure on how the table in object should be read.
Do both the 2nd and the 3rd rows refer to “Austenitic stainless steel from materials type described in A.2”?
So those materials should be used for service fluids with:
- chlorides concentrations ≤ 50 mg/l
or
- H2S partial...

Dear Forum Fellow Members,
here in old Europe, we Italians - for instance - are usually considered to be more creative and imaginative than Germans, which are regarded as more strict and conservative instead.
Maybe in the case of industrial valves this is not valid anymore ;-)...
Although the Foreword itself says that “the 2013 revision consisted of clarifications and editorial changes”, I believe useful to signal that the document in object has been officially released.
For other discussions about the previous editions of the same, please take a look at...
With reference to archived thread408-261757, I just found out that February 2011 edition of Shell DEP 31.40.70.30-Gen. specification about QUARTER-TURN ACTUATORS FOR ON/OFF VALVES provides for a Type Approval Testing (TAT) procedure: see APPENDIX A, page 39.
Has anybody undertaken the venture...
With reference to closed thread408-165885 and to thread809-293830, it must be noticed that between 2004 and 2005 ISO and API decided to create a common standard, so ISO 10497, 2nd Edition (2004) and API 607, 5th Edition (2005) were officially identical.
In the next revision (dated 2010)...
With reference to closed thread809-203817 regarding industrial valves fire testing and marking, it must be noticed that between 2004 and 2005 ISO and API decided to create a common standard, so ISO 10497, 2nd Edition (2004) and API 607, 5th Edition (2005) were officially identical, including...
Dear All,
as long as I know, the tests in object are typically applicable to control valves, especially when (smart) positioners are present.
Maybe You'll want to refer to IEC 60534 standard, Part 1 (July 2005) and Part 4 (June 2006) for definitions and/or to Shell DEP...
The European Standard in object defines the requirements and the "appropriate verification tests" applicable to "insulation valves for LNG".
Has anyone ever faced the requirements of this standard?
Has anyone ever executed one of the type tests described in its Annex A or Annex B ...
Dear All,
almost all the Customer Specifications about cryogenic testing of industrial valves assume the form of an amendment and/or supplement to BS 6364 standard, an old one... but in many case the only one applicable, as of today!
(See, for reference, also...
Dear All,
it recently happened to me to come across the general definition of "TRIZ" (acronym from Russian "Teoriya Resheniya Izobretatelskikh Zadatch" = Theory of Inventive Problem Solving)...
See, for reference: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Triz
Does anybody...
With reference to archived thread182-133010, is anybody aware of any fire tests already executed according to the 5th edition of API 607 standard?
And/or according to equivalent ISO 10497, 2nd edition of 2004-08-15?
Please take also a look at thread408-163274.
Thanks to All, 'NGL
With reference to archived thread408-114236 and in addition to the laboratories mentioned therein, does anybody know any other institutes able to perform tests according to API 607, ISO 10497 or similar?
The area of interest is Southern Europe, in particular Italy and surrounding...

;-)
For more detail, please take a look at thread408-162221.
Thans to all, 'NGL

In my Company they're trying to rationalize the internal work order program and, whit that, the possible inputs for Customer reference data: Project name, type of Industry, plant Location, Engineering and End-User companies, etc...
This would mean to amend the data resulting from many...
Dear All,
maybe I'll go off the Forum topics, but I'd like to draw your attention on something it happened to me to read in these almost-summer-holiday days...
I'm talking about "The Hunt for Red October" novel by Tom Clancy*, where the sinking of the fictional Soviet...
With reference to thread408-40826, I've been informed that API standard 622 about "Type Testing of Process Valve Packing for Fugitive Emissions" is now under development.
Has anybody read some draft?
Does anybody know the date planned for final pubblication?
Thanks, 'NGL
