I'll throw my vote towards the Red Lion G3. Probably one of the most versatile touchscreens on the market

I'm a little late on this one, but about being specific...
When I saw "CIP", the first thing I thought was "Common Industrial Protocol", which is how Devicenet, Controlnet, and Ethernet/IP communicate. Also you are asking about I/O and this is the PLC section so this would be "the common...
"All buses have
Dip switch settings on any device in field for addressing."
This is going to be device dependent for most buses. While many Devicenet devices follow this practice some don't and it is not a requirement. I don't think any scanners do but this is more of a nice feature for the...
Here is a site about Modbus, which I consider an older protocol (I may get reamed on that one)

As far as Devicenet check out

But this is more of general info. A little more about your desired network may help. Some are designed for large amounts o...
"What your saying TWControls is under RSLinx under a DH+ driver you should see all the paths that are available by doing the DeviceWho?"
No, I was just saying that the info is based off of the same. You won't be able to drill through the DH+ driver and see all the nodes, the same as you can't...
"TWControls, when I did the last thing you recommended last week, I got the error, "Configuration Data Size Too Long" I believe. I remember thinking that is was the opposite message that I got before. That was when I tried to use the DeviceWho command. I really don't think it can be done at...
You might be right but I thought the limit was 82 characters and we are at 34. Let me do some checking

Yes, me too
Controlsdude, did you see any problems with my paths. I would hate for someone else to read this and there be a problem with the paths

TW Controls - http://www.twcontrols.com
I left out a detail in the destination assignment that is probably causing the problem.
When you say a 100 element string I'm guessing your setup a tag with a name, for example, of MyString with a datatype of STRING[100]. If so then the destination should be MyString[0].DATA[0]
Set your path...
Now I don't have any experience with routing through the DHRIO module but from my understanding this shouldn't be a problem. My only personal experience is routing through Ethernet and Devicenet bridges but I have found that the path is usually the problem.
I would start with a simple...
Looks like you are correct for this side of the pond (USA) also Scotty. As of CPR7 RsLogix 500 used the Factory Talk activations.
Those who already have the software can use their existing activation until CPR10, the best I understand it...
Let me make sure I understand the routing
Flexlogix Processor --> Controlnet --> 1756-CNB --> backplane --> 1756-DHRIO--> DH+ -->1756-DHRIO --> backplane -->1756-ENBT --> RsSQL Server
Is this correct?

Yes, you can get an Ethernet adapter for ArmorPoint I/O but your 5/05 is not designed to do I/O messaging to ArmorPoint I/O. You need something such as Controllogix or Compactlogix system to make it true Ethernet/IP I/O.
Unfortunately AB did add the capability of doing some CIP Messaging to...
Have you installed the activation file? It probably came on a 3-1/2 floppy unless you happened to get the new factory talk activation but I don't think that is an option yet on RsLogix 500
