Anybody using SE22MP7 with teamcenter 13? We just upgraded from SE20 TC12.
Save-as -> translate will no longer just translate the "displayed only parts" under export options. It translates everything in your assembly. I found the attached PR on the Siemens website with no solution given...
All. We are looking to switch from Insight/Design manager to Teamcenter. We have many assemblies that have lost links to files over the years. Will this be a problem when importing current database into Teamcenter?
I figured it out.
for St10, just in case anyone needs to know, the "Base unit" tolerance for the "Length" measurement under the Units section for the drawing itself needs to be set at the tolerance you want. This can be found under the Solid Edge options.
Depends on what version of SE you are using. For ST10, the Units can be changed from MKS(meter, kilogram, second) to CGS(centimeter, gram, second) under Solid Edge options which is accessed from the Settings menu under the main pull down in the upper LH corner of the SE interface.
Whenever we create a family of parts and add a table with the associated variables to a drawing, they are always listed as 3 place decimal tolerance. We cant determine how to change the tolerances of the variables listed in the table.
Has anyone had any dealings with this?
We require all our thread callouts on drawings to indicate the associated P.D. and M.D. per the Machinery's Handbook. Currently this is just a manual note we add to the callout. Anyone know of any way to automate this so it is associative??
Perhaps that can be an attribute in the hole...
All - anyone know if there is a way to add text to a part (for NC laser cutting) in an ARC shape in ST8?
See attached. I want to cutout the text along the arc between the ID and the OD instead of being horizontal as...
You are right, property manager would be an option. Being that it looks at the properties for all files, this is even worse for some of our drawings of bigger assemblies. It takes even longer for that to open than to just open the part file itself to change the properties.
Playing with this...
yes, that's the current method. Double click to open the file, go to file properties, change as needed, save file, close file, go back to dwg, etc. Just on some large assemblies it can take quite a bit of time to open a file just to change a word in the file properties to correct the title block.
We use file properties to populate our drawing title blocks in ST7.
Currently, when they need updating/changed, we must either go back to file in question or use the property manager.
For large assemblies, this can be time consuming. Wondering if anyone knows of any way to update/change...
Hi all.
Using ST7.... Is there a way to type the formula you want for a dimension in the little box that show up when you add or click on the dimension when in a sketch profile? Instead of having to double click and then enter the formula?
@bshand - Good question. Something is different about ST7 where it needs to keep accessing the templates for any little operation. We have reported the problem to GTAC as well.
We found a workaround by creating a copy of our file templates on everyones local computers and having our SE admin options file look for them there. This has fixed the problem for the time being.
I have reinstalled ST7, updated graphics driver, updated spaceball driver with no effect. Latest thoughts are that I am having a memory issue as I only have 850mb free but 8gigs of standby with 3 gigs in use per the resource monitor.
