Cheers EngrPaper , not re-inventing the wheel does sound an interesting journey !
With some Arch like experience already under my belt ,it is a logical step to try.
Many thanks for everyone's input.
(recent fumbling's betaflight -configurator ,chirp and kalzium old favourite )
@ drawoh.
What I like / need varies , I was enjoying Linuxes broad repo availability.
Not always installing an open office word-processor ,enjoying some programming environments.(PC nerd part of me dates back to PET Basic and DR-Dos,Win 98) I have some interest in Electrical engineering plc ...
Many thanks for you time , everyone so far .
Some possibles have been right under my nose ,
a less cutting edge solution may be a better bet for machines that occasionally stagnate !
( Mastering Live ISOs on memory sticks , has been a distro exploring godsend )
I'll be back.
I have never been a Ubuntu fan ,and usually have non cutting edge (newer than 10 year old hardware !)
I have climbed my way thru
Minimalist Live cds , to installed Debian flavours
Thru Mint (fed up with no upgrade = re install)
concise versions crunch Bang , Bunsen Labs and currently
rolling...
With belt driven drums , the hi rpm of the motor can be rather hi pitched ,for those who still have good hearing . Motor spins many more times than rpm of drum. Plenty of carbon dust about is a clue to how many sets of brushes have been eaten
(2nd picture -9th Jan - not a direct drive !)
My simple thoughts , accuracy -vs- complexity .
Could a relay or two be useful for killing unwanted channels , as
crosstalk may be a gathering of unexpected sources of interference !
Next level of lo tech tweaking to G.Englund's Circuit ,
add a relay with its N/C contacts in series with the bulb ,and coil driven by the voltage across the bulb and its own contacts . It will self isolate and un-latch when the power is off long enough !
( Hope this verbal circuit is ok ...
A question
Are supply and magnetron separated by a reasonable distance , or will there be some RFI as well as high voltages & Magnetic fields in the area ?
Spotted the the parts in parallel = not needed, but worried about D9 as it is fed directly by (BR1)=D1 to D4 !
Reminds me of voltage multiplier circuit based on Bridge rectifiers isolated by caps in ac feed .
Testing un-known remains like these I have seen the odd Darlington pair in a single package , if switching is not too fast , but plenty of gain is wanted !
Clues about the resistive load would be nice
is it :-
a) a spiral tungsten filament, takes a cold surge current
b) Modern IR LED technology more like a laser
c) a true pure resistance ( Measure resistance ?)
Switching a DC rail on/off is much easier than amplifying a Square
wave !
A Fluid is incompressible , it has no urge to expand .
Any trapped air should delay pressure increase seen on monitoring equipment , Operator needs to be aware of Normal behavior , and possible danger when not normal !
Any air , will act like a spring , an unwanted effect .
Air present...
This is your enemy ,it is just so Explosive . A consequence of over-charging .
Waross Has a good answer , but you may need extra batteries and a safe way to swap them about . Any vented gas will be unkind if you make sparks near it !
