Does anyone have the NX Nastran 8.5 Release Guide?

In the results tab, there is a "Vector" option. I think this might be what you need.

1) Look for a file named "prob002.bdf" in your MSC Nastran installation directory.
2) Import this file into SimXpert. This imports a composites model.

The new gui is only available in Patran 2010 and on.
Look at the Patran shortcut, right click>properties. You will notice an additional -skin for the new GUI.
New GUI: C:\MSC.Software\Patran_x64\20122\bin\patran.exe -skin
OLD GUI: C:\MSC.Software\Patran_x64\20122\bin\patran.exe
Is Sol 600 only for large strain solutions? No, I'm fairly certain there is a large displacement or large strain setting you can turn off in Patran.
Yes, stay away from SOL106. Use SOL 600 or 400.
