    Printing drawings - lines missing

I followed Craptia's advice, and changed the rotation to zero deg, and this appears to have solved the problem. I'm going through the process of obtaining the service pack and will update just in case. Thanks for your help

    Printing drawings - lines missing

Version is V5 R18 with no service pack. I generally see it on curved lines - straight lines generally appear and print ok.

    Printing drawings - lines missing

Recently i've started to have an issue when printing drawings where some of the lines are missing. I've tried different printers, and the same result occurs. When I preview the print, it shows the same lines missing. I'm not sure if i might have changed a setting somewhere, but its only...

    File Associations

The installation process has also messed up my standards and options. I'm managing to get everything back to how i was but theres one thing that i cant figure out. When i start a new part the edges are in line thickness "2"(0.35mm) I'd previously changed it somehow so the default line...

    File Associations

I upgraded the release from R16 to R18 and the file associations for all catia parts is now missing. As a result i cant open files by double clicking. I've tried manually changing the file associations, but i cant find which part of the catia program i need to associate the files with. Any...

    Detail view of Breakout view

Thank you - i didnt consider that there would be a difference between detail and quick detail views. On a related note does anyone know the best way to generate a dimension that doesnt extend back to the other point. for example, i am currently drawing a cylindrical fitting that has an under...

    Detail view of Breakout view

I have a part that has an undercut, and i have represented this by using a broken view, but when i try to insert a detailed view of the broken section, the detail view reverts to "unbroken" Is there any way to insert a detail view from a breakout view, and maintain the view as broken? hope...

    dimension to multiple holes

ISO standard. That was another option i looked at - with an arrow pointing to the other circles, but as you say, there is no way to positionally link the arrow to the dimension.

    dimension to multiple holes

This is what i have been doing - right clicking on the text box and adding a leader. I was looking if there was a neater way, as im not keen on using text boxes to dimension drawings.

    dimension to multiple holes

In drafting, is there any way to add leaders to dimensions so they can point to more than 1 hole or feature? I have 2 holes that are the same diameter, and instead of dimensioning them seperately, would like an arrow to point to both features. Previously i have done this by using text boxes...

    Font colour - standard

we had a custom standard set up by our vendor, and the colours etc were based on a black background for drafting (like autocad). I prefer to use a light background in catia, and have changed the text colours & line colours in the standards to suit this. I cant seem to find the part of the...

    Attribute links - radius/diameter

Im using attribute links to reference features of a drawing, but am having a slight problem. When i try to link to a diameter (pcd) the attribute returned is always a radius. The pcd dimension is construction geomtry, within a sketch, and dimensioned as a diameter. Any ideas on how i can...

    Double lines

I'm currently making inspection drawings, intended for parts to be laid over for checking purposes. The shapes are fairly basic (rectangles with cutouts, corners missing etc). Im working from nominal outline drawings, and im trying to have an upper and lower limit on the inspection drawing...

    Creating mold from solid

I tried the thickness function, and got denegarative surface error messages. The existing part was scanned using a scanner, and then the solid was created in Rhino (i didnt scan it or use Rhino, this is how i received it, as a solid "lump") Because of the shape of the duct, it isnt perfectly...
