    BMS 9-8 Allowables

Thanks for the information gentlemen, especially Steve. The T300/EA9396 is what I needed. Just what the Dr. ordered.

    BMS 9-8 Allowables

I have an Airbus A-320 nose landing gear door. The outer skin is cracked in the monolithic area at the upper aft end of the door, aft of the aft hinge. I am looking to substitute BMS 9-8 dry carbon fabric and EA 9396 resin for the SRM callout of G-806 fabric and Ciba Redux 501 resin. I would be...

Jo Bolts and checking after installation

Make sure you check to be sure you are using the correct drill size for correct diameter. Being one drill size off will make them spin even though they pull good.

ARE COMANIES HIRING ANY ENTRY LEVEL ENGINEERS

What type of engineering position are you looking for? Design, R&D, Repair, Composites, Airline, Repair Station etc. What part of the country do you want to work in? If you are a recent college grad, unless you have an A&P or previous "hands on" experience then you have got a lot to learn...

    Structural Repair

Skypunk, Safety of flight begins with you. A bad repair is just that, a bad repair. At least report it to your supervisor or a competent inspector.

    Minimum bend radius

Is it possible that your part may have been machined from aluminum bar or plate? That is the only other explanation I can think of. I am involved with machined parts in the aircraft industry, after milling and a good polishing it is often hard to tell a machined part from a brake formed part.

    Aircraft edge distance

Quote from Above: "From memory Douglas measures ED from the edge of the hole to the edge of the part." I'm sorry to disagree with you, but Douglas has always measured E.D. from the center of the hole to the EOP. Boeing used to measure E.M. from the edge of the hole to the edge of the part...

    Aircraft edge distance

I am the old Douglas goat that submitted a repair to Boeing ESE that my partner rerig mentioned above. When I deal with the engineers that reside in the hallowed halls on top of "Mount Boeing" I use their engineering terminology as a profesional courtesy. I used edge margin of 1.5 measured from...
