I've used both options. Best to discuss with your AIA and they should give you guidance. They can also co-ordinate with the AIA at site to minimize the costs.

Anyone have any details about the explosion of the LOx tank at a hospital in downtown Toronto? It looks like the vacuum jacket top head was ripped off but what would cause that to happen in such a catastrophic way...
Does anyone know why I can't specify a coupling in the top head for hillside attachment? The only option I get for couplings is Radial unless I change the style to "Uniform Thickness", in which case I don't get a coupling rating of 3000#.
I don't agree that updating to the current edition of the ASME Code requires a change to the CRN. The requirements of Sect. VIII are that the construction is in compliance with the current edition of the Code which for a vessel built 28 years ago will almost certainly be because the current Code...

According to our experience the CRN for fittings expires after 10 years. There is no renewal process and a completely new approval is required. You may request to use the same CRN but there is no assurance that it will be granted.
