You have two choices I can think of off the top of my head. 1. export .pdfs of all the files; a .pdf is printable on any plotter. 2. find a batch utility program that will automatically write over whatever has to be written over in the plot files (APLOT might be able to help, not too sure, though).
The AISI "Cold-Formed Steel Framing Design Guide" is pretty good, but you need to have the AISI Cold-Formed Steel Design Manual as a companion (or vice-versa). I have a 1962 copy of the Design Manual and a 2001 copy of the Design Guide; the former has lots of neat derivation of moment of inertia...
"By the way...what is your pile bent being used for?"
I'm working on analyzing an existing marine facility's pier. No maintenance has been done on it in 30 years (it was built 30 years ago...), no one has the slightest idea where any as-builts/record drawings are; yet the thing still stands and...
Thank you, sir!
CRSI (1984) has this to say, "Pile caps are an important structural element somewhat neglected in handbooks on steel because they are reinforced concrete and in handbooks on concrete in the range where steel piles are used..."
I posted this in the Marine/Ocean Engineering forum, but no one was biting...
I'm looking into rules/requirements for just how much a pile should extend into its pile cap. The piles are steel H-Piles.
AASHTO Bridge Manual says 6 in, but 9 in is desirable for a bent cap (which is more like what...
"The problem with talking publicly about work is that your competitors will figure out what you are doing, and sometimes more important, what you are _not_ doing."
Yeah, like giving out your real name on Eng-Tips... Instead of working you're messing around on this web site.
Once I got my PE license, I rejoined a couple of the societies I'd belonged to as a student. When I was in school, the student chapters were pretty good because: 1) the professors who advised us were excited about their field(s) and transfered that excitement to me (this was my personal...

AASHTO Bridge Manual says 6 in, but 9 in is desirable for a bent cap (which is more like what I have). 12 in is required for pile caps.

Here's some interesting stuff on the history of professional engineering registration:

A long time ago you could buy a P.E. license from Vermont and from Washington, D.C. This is what I've heard from the old guys in the office (those who are older than 60).
There's a lot of old bad blood surrounding this issue. Every now and then there's an anecdote about one of the "Green...
Don't give up!
As an electrical, you certainly can go work for an electrician - get that real hands-on experience. And/or consider construction inspection - somebody needs to to the grunt work. My first job out of school was inspection of construciton; didn't pay squat - I barely made my rent...
