I saw diesel power plant barges which are rated 13.8Kv, 60Hz. If the barge will be moved to other countries with 50 Hz frequency, can it be used still? Does the rated power output of the generator rise or drops?
Hope you can share your technical comments, thanks.

the problem is moisture, we havent run for a month and the cabin heaters malfunctioned. i have researched the material and it is fiberglass polyester or epoxy reinforced. thanks for the replies.
what an expensive lawsuit, the barrier may not be made of asbestos thereof. Please help me identify what is the material used on the barrier.
the material looks like this one:

the red one...
There was a spark on the voltage transformer compartment due to moisture, the panel heaters malfunctions though. The insulation dividers (made of asbestos fibers)are heavily burnt also. If i order this asbestos fiber, it takes too long (3 months to arrive). Is it safe to use a phenolic board to...
We sort of to upgrade our flow meters in our power plant. The old one uses the gear type positive displacement meters. By the way the medium measured is bunker fuel C (HFO). As I got to inquire new products, we come to talk about ultrasonic flow meters. Despite being expensive i think its a good...
We order a 460V, 60Hz specs squirrel cage motor (12/7KW) at dual speed 1445/730 rpm. But the supplier delivers us instead of 400V, 50Hz (same KW, n rpm rating)motor.
The supplier explains that the 400V, 50Hz is just the equivalent of 460V, 60Hz rating.
Is it really safe to operate this motor...
When synchornizing to the grid u need the load control like that of woodward like the woodwards MSLC.
These automatic controls can make u ease the power flow control u want to contribute to the grid.
Woodward is nice! we use it here in our diesel power plant.
Thanks for the info u guys, hehehe. Electrical field is really indeed has lot of things u need to understand. As a matter of fact i have so many questions that i tend to look for answers, hehehe.
Thanks guys!!
Ive been too in transmission maintenance. Annually we do it. Here are some of our things to do:
1. Terminal hotspot test - using thermal scanning, this must be done prior to the maintenace period and if possible with the highest load posible during testing time. Upon learning where the hotspots...
In our plant, red is close and green is open for breakers. Its American standard i think coz the panel is made in US. But to my surprise in the SCADA green is close and red is open for breakers and even motors. ie when the motor is running its color is green when off its red. When i trace...
Hmmm. Actually im working in a power plant, hehehe. Thanks for the replies. Indeed waross is right, in an isolated plant (island operation) pf or KVAR control is not in effect including the generator real power or the MW for the load determines it. But if the generator is connected to a large...
Im a beginer here, i just wonder why a generator should always have a DC excitation?
If in transformers dc cannot be transformed (unless its pulsating dc) why is it used in excitation for generators as well. Is it because the magnetic field is moving magnetic one due to it rotates as the prime...
