Hello to all,
I have been looking around for a library of hydraulic symbols to be used in Autocad but I could not find what I was looking for. Eaton seemed to have an AutoCAD add-on but it does not work with modern versions of ACAD.
Does anyone of you have this sort of library that would be of...
Cheers guys. Good material to think of! My issue is that the marine regulation refers to the concerntration only.most gas codes require 30 air changes. I'll go with that and ensure local extraction with this flow rate. Many thanks!!!
Good morning to all,
I have a question about ventilation flowrate definition in order to stay below a concentration threshold during a leakage scenario. In concrete words, we have a room of 24 m3 that contains hydrogen fuel cells. The gaseous hydrogen maximum flow rate in the pipe is 4370 m3/h...
Cheers LittleInch.
The rubber turbine is only a flexible impeller helping to prime the main engine-driven pump but that shares the same inlet.
Sorry for not mentioning the flowrate. It is 100 m3/h max.
See the attached sketch. The potentially added parts are highlighted in red. The idea is to...
Hello to all,
I am currently sitting on a problem.
On a ship currently under trials, we are facing seawater cooling pumps that are de-priming on the main engines. The pumps level is exactly at the seawater level and they are fitted with priming unit (rubber turbine in parallel of the pump)...
MintJule, I went through these posts before posting, especially the first one. I am still working on trying to adapt this. I might share my results today. Can you please explicit Qx and Dx?
IRStuff, this is one of the options. It would be acceptable to start the sequence between 15°C and 18°C...
Thanks nuuvox000. I'll need to convert tomorrow.znd will try your approach. Anyway, my curious mind would have loved knowing loads in and loads out how to calcu the temper on a time scale...
Good morning to you all,
For a series of ships (tugs) actually being built, I am facing an HVAC engineering issue. To start with, I should say that we only do steady-state calculations using ISO 7547, SNAME T&R Bulletin 4-16 or equivalent. In other words, for technical rooms, we calculate...
Thanks LitleInch. I read the article, very interesting. What I kept from it:
- 0.1 mA/m2 is also assumed in this study with the following reference: Metals Handbook. So thanks for that!
- It is not a praise against CS for seawater, it confirms that non galvanised pipes, badly coated and with...
Honestly, I agree on all cons of GS, don't try to convince me... I am just trying to size a few anodes at the equipment interfaces and try to estimate the current density (A/m2) in seawater with some flow. Any help would be appreciated...
Thanks for your feedback.
About the material, my company has done a CAPEX/OPEX assessment and found that even if somehow disposable, the GS solution is optimal. Debatable but ok so far. We build dozens of ships like this every year.
We use seemless pipes and hot galvanise the pipes once...
Good day gents,
I have been looking through various threads but can not find an answer to my query.
I am trying to determine the required zinc anodes on a galvanised steel seawater piping inside a ship. It does not need to be a very refined calculation as I am only looking at a ball park...
Dear All,
I don't think that my request is against the rules of these forums (as this is not promoting nor selling) but if this is the case, I am really sorry.
I am looking for a centrifugal pump, to be mounted on a ship, with the following particulars:
- Capacity: 25m3/h
- Head: 43 meters
-...
