Dear IceBreakerSours,
I really appreciate your response.
After some research, I have found that the difference between the results in ABQ6.10 and ABQ6.14 is caused by the contact constraint discontinuity work (CCDW).
When CCDW is summed to the frictional dissipation (FD) in ABQ6.14, a similar...
Hello all,
Some time ago I solved a transient thermo-mechanical problem using Abaqus 6.10, and I was quite satisfied with the observed results (frictional dissipation energy and power loss due to friction).
Now, I am solving the very same problem with Abaqus 6.14 (using the very same *.inp...
Dear Corus,
I have used an axisymmetric analysis as you suggested me and now the finite element analysis match the experimental results.
Thank you very much
V.
Dear corus,
thank you very much for your advice, I really appreciate it.
I though about using axisymmetric elements at first, but then the company which manufactures the cans asked me for a buckling-postbuckling analysis, so I decided to have a tridimensional mesh for this study (according to...
Hello all,
I need to perform a finite element analsysis to determine the deformation of a can under a 2bar internal pressure.
The material of the can is TH520 (tin plate, i've got the strain-stress curves), and the thickness of the plate is 0.18mm - 0.19mm.
I have performed a non-linear...
Hi all, and thanx for the replies :)
The problem was i haven't constrained the 6th degree of freedom.
Sometimes we look for the answer so deep, when it really is very simple.
Thank you very much
Víctor
Hi,
I'm doing a static analysis of a beam with a point load. I think it is a very simple problem, but Abaqus can't solve it. After five incrementes and a time incremente reduced to 3.906E-03, the *.msg file says:
***NOTE: THE SOLUTION APPEARS TO BE DIVERGING. CONVERGENCE IS JUDGED...
Hi all.
I'm modelling the interaction between the gear drive axle and the bearings in its extremes. I've modeled the axle with linear beam elements, and i was thinking to put in its final nodes boundary conditions that simulate the bearing stiffness.
I'm thinkin of use spring elements, or...
Thank you very much.
I'm writing a paper about the importance of precisión in geometry definition for contact problems FEA.
I've used type 'brick' linear elements because a recomendation of my supervisor, and i need to argue that decision in my paper.
So thank you very much, your answer has...
Hi
I need to know wich element type is better to solve contact problems with FEA.
I think the better choice are linear elements, but I need any bibliographical reference to contrast this thought.
Thanks in advice
Thanks!
I've done a report with the magnitudes of the contact normal force, so I can processe with matlab these results and obtain the searched data.
By the way, d'you know what doest it means de 3rd field of the 2nd data block of the contact option, in the *.dat file?
Thank you 40818.
I've tried applying the moment on an independent node of a RBE2 constraint and it works right (or so it seems).
I think my other problem it's solved now too.
Cheers
