Help please
I have a client questioning need for baseline on new equipment.
I know in API 570, 510 or 653 there was a recommendation for so many days or so many hours of operation.
I have searched all docs i have and cannot find it.
Anybody?
Management wants to relocate small process plant with a number of pressure vessels to different location. All vessels will be in exact same service. They also want to inspect all vessels via API 510 before re locating.
another prevailing thought being proposed is the vessels should be inspected...

I am trying to use excel to indicate pipe wall measurements in a circle. Sort of a cross sectional view of ID and OD measurements.
Just drawing a blank, pie chart does not seem to work. maybe polar chart?
basically trying to bend a line chart into a circle.

Auditor insisting all carbon steel bolts be replaced with stainless on SS code vessels, but I have not got a definitive answer why?
Talking thousands of carbon bolts ($$$) that have been in service with no problem for years. I must be missing something

We have a client with several rail car tankers that have been retrofitted or I should say undercarriage removed and are now being used as horizontal pressure vessels. (low pressure 15-20 psi)...
I am working with some older pressure vessels circa 1960. the shell material is stated as sa-283-c "tq"; the head material is sa-283-c "fq"; I have worked with sa-283-c many times but am unfamilur with "tq" "fq"
Any help?
I am trying to convice upper management that a "baseline" UT measurement should be taken ASAP on new ASME code vessels and process pipe.
Somewhere, and I just cannot find it, I have read that "baselines" should be performed within 90 days or 1000 hours of service. Has anyone else seen this or...
