After more research, I saw where WF4 creates PDF's using an EXPORT command similar to DXF and IGES. In WF2, PDF's were created using the plot command and that is why the print_file_directory is no longer valid for PDF file creation in WF4.
So, now I have created a mapkey that creates the PDF...
We just upgraded from WF2 to WF4. In WF2 we had a PDF icon in the drawing mode that would create a PDF file of the drawing and store it at the location defined at plot_file_directory. In WF4, the icon is still there but the file creation sequence has been changed. We now have to tell ProE...
We have a part that has approximately 500 instances. I would like to put the table on a drawing; however, the family table is too large to fit on the drawing. Is it possible to have multiple family tables on the drawing. What I would like to do is have one table that controls details 1...
I have a drawing that specifies the material as SYS-PUR EG 7490. I have tried to find some information on this material and the only thing I can find is it seems to be some type of polyurethane; however, I'm not too sure. Has anyone heard of this type of material?
Thank you in advance for...
I know in the drawing mode that you can change the font of any letter used within a note or dimension. But, I would like to change the font of certain dimension symbols within part mode. For example, if I have an angle, I would like the symbol to be the greek symbol alpha. The greek symbol...
When you create the hole, use the diameter option within the hole tool. This option will require you to specify the initial angle and bolt circle diameter. You can then pattern hole using the angle dimension.
In your drawing, show all axis and the axis of the bolt circle will be shown. In...
I know there is a setting within the config.pro file to have ProE store trail files in a particular directory. Is there a similar setting for proi.log files? Currently these files are being stored on my desktop and I would like for them to be stored elsewhere.
Thanks for your help.
dgallup,
Are the drawing parameters defined anywhere? Do you see anyway around of having to use tables within the formats inorder to import model parameters into the drawing?
Thanks again for your help.
looslib,
Thanks for your quick response. Just as a test, I typed in the following note within my format without using a table:
"Drawing Name = &dwg_name"
"Model Name = &model_name"
Both parameters came in perfect. I don't understand why these two parameters worked and the others did not...
I imported an AutoCAD format into ProEngineer. In the formate where the material is specified, it original read "MAT'L : X" where "X" would be modified by the user. When I imported the format into ProE, I changed this to the following "MAT'L : &material" so that the material would be directly...
I am moving a designer from a desktop to a laptop and I'm not sure about the best way to handle the workspaces that are stored on the desktop. I know the workspaces are stored locally. Can I just copy the workspaces from one machine to the other without causing any problems with Intralink...
Sometimes when I do a revolved cut, the cutting surfaces do not appear smooth. The lines are jagged much like a saw. Is there a graphics setting that would correct this? It is so exaggered that we can't make chages to our assembly because we can't determine where the true edge is. Any ideas...
If I wanted to use the AutoCAD title blocks, what would be the correct procedure?
Would I create a ProE "C" title block file and import the AutoCAD "C" title block and then save the format file? Sometimes when I import a file into a ProE drawing, it always says the file is not the same size as...
