Thanks PetieSmo for the explanation.
I have a question however on how to set up the springs in the correct direction. The springs in my model are 90° off from the direction of the force.
In the attachment I show the spring definition dialog box for one of the eight springs that I set up...
Thanks for your help. I got the equations from the following website.
http://www.engineersedge.com/belleville_spring.htm
I used a Modulus of Elasticity of 29600000 psi and a Poisson's ratio of 0.28.
I also compared my hand calculation results to Universal Technical Systems' Advanced Spring...
Your results look like they are pretty accurate. I am trying to duplicate them, however I get an error saying:
This point-to-ground spring is
not associated with any element.
Do you know what the cause of this is?
Was the origin of the cylindrical or the cartesian coordinate system used when...
Sure.
I show a cross section of the washer in the attached file. Note that 0.695 and 0.598 are the OD and ID dimensions respectively. The thickness is .008 and the overall length is .042. Dimensions are in inches. See attachment.

No I still have not been able to solve it.
I have tried several different methods such as using a polar coordinate system and applying radial constraints to the spring, but no still no luck.

Hello,
I documented my question in the link. Basically I am inquiring about the best way to load and constrain a belleville spring. Please open and help me out if you can.

Hello,
I have written a For loop that uses a shell command to call a batch file that replaces text in a trail file, Mytrail.txt. I then use that altered text file and use it to run Pro/Engineer by calling it through another shell command. I would like to add pause instructions to my routine...
Hello,
I am trying to automate the process of mass creating parts.
What I would like to do is write a VB command that tells windows to launch pro/engineer in no graphics mode and run a trail file that is called mytrail_1.txt
I can run that trail file in pro/engineer in no graphics mode from...
Ok sounds good. I have been making a family of parts using the excel to pro/engineer method. This method yields a family of parts but they are all separate files.
My next question would be is there a way to do this same excel to pro/engineer automation technique but to create a family of parts...
Hello,
I found a useful post on this site to make multiple parts that are the same but they are just different sizes through making a table in excel, going thru tools--> programs in Pro/Engineer, reading the converted .prn file into Pro/engineer to generate similar parts of different sizes.
Is...
Disregard the previous post I found out how to remove material.
However, now the problem is that the section is not the same. I would like to cut out a section that has a rectangular shape. It starts out that way but by the time it gets to the end of the cut the section becomes triangular...
thanks for the responses.
I have decided to go with a variable section sweep.
However I can only add material when I do this. Is there a way to use this feature and remove material?
Because I have not seen the remove material button anywhere.
Hello,
I am trying to perform a simple cut operation that has myself and a few other Pro/engineer Wildfire 3.0 users stumped. So I figured I would give this forum a try.
Basically I would like to cut constant section groove along a profile into my part.
First: I define the curve that is...
Hello,
I have to print out a pro/engineer drawing that is over 20 sheets long.
Is there a faster way to do this than printing the drawing sheet by sheet.
Thanks,
