Seems like all the relevant threads on this subject are pretty old... I'm looking for recommendations for an entry level(ish) graphics tablet. One with a medium size drawing area (6 X 10 ish). I want to try out the Sketch Ink functionality.
Thanks...

I'm not sure what you mean when you "add" or "attach quantities" to your balloons.
Typically my multi-sheet assembly drawings have an isometric view and a BOM on Sheet1. Then on the rest of the sheets, I make sure my drawing sheet balloons are linked to the BOM. Search for "Drawing View...

I have a feeling my solution is in a SYSTEM OPTION setting somewhere buried deep within... but I can't find it. When I dimension, after my first click, the dimension text will preview (stuck to my cursor). Often the text obscures the 2nd thing I want to click on. Is there a solution to this...
I should have clarified...
The reply I got from tech support on 1/9/14 solved the problem.

I have loaded 2014 and downladed the latest drivers for my SpaceNavigator. My preference is to set-up the zoom in/out to UP(lift the puck) / DOWN(squash the puck). Either that option is gone, or I just can't find it in the settings menu. I understand that the menu is application/context...
I typically use one for SolidWorks, but drag my command manager and property manager and any other toolbars to the 2nd monitor. Then the 2nd monitor is also handy for reference data and email, etc. I would not want to be limited to one monitor, unless it was some sort of 36" widescreen.

Anybody running 3 or more monitors? I run 2, but read an article recently that claims 3 is the "sweet spot" for CAD work. Wondering if anybody can endorse this and what video card you're using?

If your goal is to see this flex in an assembly... one option is to make 2 configs in your part (one for each half of the hinge). Insert the part 2 times (one of each config) in your assembly, then mate accordingly. You can then set one of them to not display in your BOM.

We don't track revisions in our models or drawing files. But we do create a PDF of every drawing revision. It's not a perfect system, but it doesn't break references... and if we have a good PDF drawing of prior revisions, we can always re-create a prior revision if needed. So, to clarify... our...

As I understand it... you can't get the Essentials book (or any other "official" training material) without taking the class. My plan is to teach classes for 2 or 3 co-workers. We can't afford the time away from the office to send...
Probably going to start in-house SolidWorks training classes... I will start shopping for Matt Lombard's books... And I'm familiar with Sham Tickoo's book (I used to teach at a tech college)... Any others I should consider..? [smarty]
