Hi
You should have got a manual supplied with software. Cad is such a huge package it can seem a bit daunting but as you just seem to want to know a few basics there is always the help menu or there are quite a few tutorials on the net. Cad tutor being one.
Best of luck

Hi
I am no expert, just 36 years in a boiler house so don't all jump dowm my throat. Isn't this just basic PRIMING? i.e. Sudden significant load change. If the changes can't be slowed with say anticipatory control because of turbine location is too close to the boiler what about a pressure...
Hi
Can someone out there give me some advice about solid hatch transparency. Is it possible on 2008. A colleague works on Photoshop and cad. He would like to use the drawing commands on cad so by importing a photo he can put solid hatches on it but wants to make it transparent to still see...
I don't mean to be a sour puss but just because you have the money is it REALLY necessary to go top end just to spend it. It would be good practice to get what you need it for at the best price with some thought for any change in work for the future. I know things quickly become out of date...
Surely the point of a template layout is that it is drawn to papersize and saved as DWT then open it up and you scale the viewport in PS showing your model at the selected scale. Or am I missing something. Always willing to learn.

Good luck

I am not an expert on xrefs so don't take it as gospel. Is it something like on a locked layer or is the path identified by the xref on a similar layer marked up as normal. If and when you find the answer please don't forget to get back and let us all know.

I havn't used 3D for a while but I think you are looking at creating a path with an arc as the centre line of the O ring and extruding a solid and then doing a union or subtraction.
Hope this is what you want
Hi
I missed out the point of just making the viewport you make just the size of the view you want unless you are using the preset selection and of course you can make the viewport border a distinctive colour.
Hi
I always make a layer called Viewport and put all viewports on it, and not to print the border just freeze it. That way you can have a number of viewports on the same layout and at different scales if you want. With the viewports set like this you can change from MS to PS and back by...
Just a small point that maybe of interest with the fillet command. Not sure if it just came about in 2006 but if you hold the shift key down when filleting it auto sets radius to zero.
Hi
The point graphic selection box has disappeared when I select point from the top menu. Nothing comes up on the screen. The command line prompts specify point, but I can't make any selection as the screen is empty. I have searched around for any tick box that might be unticked but havn't...
Hi
I am trying to apply photographs to a drawing to send by email. I am using Autocad 2000 and have put the photos on the drawing by insert/raster and put them on paperspace and it all prints out great. When I send the drawing off by email the drawing opens up and there is just the space where...
Your going to love paperspace. I don't want to open a can of worms we have been down that road before. Remember Model in Model Space and everything else in Paperspace. Thats my two pennyworth anyway.
Have fun and remember "patience is a virtue"

Absolutely brilliant. Just what I wanted. You deserve a gold star.
Can I ask another favour. In the angle selection where does the 45> get stipulated in the code. Is it possible to enter a specific angle as a choice as with the text height.

Will try your post and...
