Calctd NPAH(A) is 286 feet , but data sheet value is only "20"feet

When the NPSHr of a pump is less than 20 ft (determined by supplier), it is OK to state the NPSHa (in the data sheet)as 20+ feet. This is enough for pump selection. Should the NPSHr needs more, supplier will tell you.

Calculate the dew point of natural gas if I know the composition?

If you have HYSYS program, you could do as following to find the gas Dew Point: 1) Create a stream 2) Enter your gas composition 3) Enter an arbitrary flow rate (this doesn't affect the dew point calculation) 4) Enter either known temperature or pressure 5) Enter 1 on the...

    Static Mixer Sizing and Design

Gents, Would like to thanks in advance for any advise/input/ideas. I want to blending 6000 Bbl/D of condensate (C1-C5) to 300,000 Bbl/d of heavy oil (SG = 0.8)at 1.5 barg and 46 C. At these conditions the condensate flowing into the Static Mixer has two phase with about 20% vapor by volume...

Insulation of flare headers in crude oil production plant

Acoustic insulation is another possibility if you have a change of blowing down through this flare header. Especially, if you have a sonic flare it will create a lot of noise. TAD123

please check my scfm vs acfm calcs!

The calculation above is assumed compressibility Zactual=Zstandard = 1, which is OK for the discharge conditions. I'm curious of what type of gas you compress and what is the compression ratio. The discharge temperature of 80 F at 100 psig seems to be low to me. TAD123

    OPERATING AND DESIGN PRESSURE/TEMPRATURE

Normally, the PSV and its piping system are not designed for fire case but at the maximum operating Pressure and Temperature plus margin. When the system exposes to fire, the temperature in the pipe may exceed the specified design temperature. However, this can not be considered as normal...

Pilot PSVs Lifting Due to Backpressure Surges?

I have seen a similar incident that the PRV started lifting though the pressure in the system did not reach the set point. If you have a XXV/SDV at the discharge line, and during ESD the XXV/SDV close too quick; it could create a transient effect and pressure in the system may reach the set...
