I have had this happen the last two days. I am working in an assy file (around 5M) and all of a sudden it is read only. Does anyone know how or why this happens, so I can prevent it in the future? Thank you in advance

Well with a bit more reseach I have found that it is only with planar and mate relationships. I also tried update 7 but that did not help. I also found that it is happening in only a few assemblies not globally, so I am still tring to find "the setting" that will help.

If I understand you correctly, the part/assembly files are no longer "a part of the draft". In that case you would need to open the draft (in Rev manager) incrinemt ther rev, and replace the parts/assembly in that draft, it should then only require and update once the draft is opened
