Anyone have any experience with early Alco Engines? particularly with torque figures of the primary lube oil screen cover. They are a fairly poor design ( the cover stands proud of the cylinder) with too little torque resulting in a blown gasket and a spectacular mess, or too tight thereby...
Does anyone have an involvement in the rail industry? Particularly freight locomotives? Or perhaps knows of a similar forum that does? I'm a little suprised that there doesn't appear to be a group. I believe the USA has a huge network compared to OZ (or perhaps I just cant find it)
I am presently working with the above alpha-numeric system but can find little reference to its origins. I know it is a German system and I have a ratty photo-copy of a guide line manual.

11= turbine 11
MBV=lube system
10=lube oil storage
AA=valve
1=first in system
