I am looking for compression requirements for gaskets. The types are spiral-wound, neoprene, soft iron, EPDM, and flexible graphite. Any suggestions where to look?
Refer to ASME 16.36 Section 2.0. It states that ASME 16.5 applies to orifice flanges for pressure and temp. ratings. If you still need the Section VIII Appendix 2 calculation, I have it in MathCAD.
Do you really have conditions to warrant those pressure classes? If so, I believe you will have to design your own blind using ASME Section VIII Appendex 2.
I need to find the pressure rating for a 1/2, 1, 2 inch titanium flange. I need to determine if the design stresses (Class 150) are less than the allowable stresses for a given temperature and pressure. Titanium is not specified in B16.5. What are your recommendations?
