The chart I speak of is in the New York State Stormwater Design Manual Chapter 8 and the Maryland Stormwater design manual and many others. It seems it is universally used by everybody. I tried in vain to attach it to this post.
In using the universal figure that is the "Detention Time vs Discharge" chart (where you find the ratio of outflow to inflow by inputting the unit peak discharge), I am wondering how the 12-hour and 24-hour curves were formulated. I have searched for the answer to no avail. It seems the Maryland...
Thanks to all. I forgot I posted (being under the cosh), but I did end up realizing that the channel tapered to a line and did it the same way as described Ryb01. Thanks again guys.
I'm wondering if anyone has another method of determining the volume of water that is detained in a trapezoidal channel with check dams that measures 2.5'H x 8'BW x 18'TW (2H:1V sides). Check dams are the H (2.5') and are spaced 78' apart. Longitudinal slope of the swale is 0.032ft/ft.
I am...
A series of ponds defined with incremental storage at the contour elevations. The flow rate for 100yr storm is 20 cfs. After looking at it some more I think I am going to need a pond.
I have been trying to model 4 checkdams in sequence 100ft apart on 6% slope. The swale is trapezoidal with a 12'BW x 30'TW x 3'D & 3:1 sides. The check dam H is 2' and spans the width of the swale. My problem is that I can't get the peak flow rate down without overtopping the swale at each Check...
Anyone have any ideas about the trip generating potential of an event center? The proposed 'Events' are weddings, car auctions, merchandise auctions and car shows. The ITE trip data books do not cover anything related to this land use. I may use arena or movie theater (suggested by the Boss) Any...
I work out of Fredericksburg, but when I was first in the job Market 2 years ago. No company (San Antonio and Austin included) was paying more than $30K to start. I am so close to my test, that I will probably remain here for the time being, though the pay is small.
Well I am an EIT with 3 years experience. Working in a small town in TEXAS making $13.00/hr. My pay has alot to do with the size of the company (2PEs, 2Drafters, 2 EITs 1 tech, 1 receptionist), and the small customer base. My boss pays himself around $60K/year, but I do believe that he is...
