    12.5% tolerance

Could anyone explain why this tolerance value is applied to the pipe wall thickness or diameter? Does it apply to cast pipe, as well? Thank you.

    Fine line of intellectual property

An employee intends to quit and start his own business. He accumulated knowledge at work and has ideas that are not used by his employer. His new company will compete directly with his present employer, especially with new products based on these ideas. What is illegal and what is unethical in...

    Eng. postgrad education - comparison

I am trying to compare post grad education in engineering in different countries. I am familiar with the American/Canadian model of B.Eng (defined by ABET/CCPE and structured for large group of students) followed a M.Eng (specialized and individual). Is it an European or Japonez model? Any...

The part is a ring and deformation is simply upsetting the ring to about half of its height. It's the ring test for lubricants.

    12L14 too hard

I have small parts made from 12L14 cold drawn with hardness about 90HRB. What can I do to soften the material which will be deformed to a lower height. Would heat treatment be influenced by the lead from the material? Thanks a lot for your help.

    Tension Testing "Sampling Plan"

If you only need to compare those two or three treatments (untouched, after melt, and after diffusion) ANOVA seems like the best method to find out if there is any significant difference between treatments. The larger the number of tests (if you can afford it), the better. Once the experiment...

    National PE License?

Aside all the little problems (state vs feds), would it be nice to have a general licence that allows to practice where you go? Nothing can prevent local organizations to include specifics in the general practice (seismics, electrical, safety). After all we travel and practice on the entire...
