Spline-free stencil letters DXF or DWG?

WOW, I have to convert splines into poly lines all the time. in order to get a tool path smooth enough, I set the precision way high. PLINECONVERTMODE gives me smooth lines that are kinder to the tool path (less code). thumbs up to PINWARDS

Machine programming to account for thermal expansion

JNieman, Brian E22 hit on the solution I would use. If you have good expansion data for your machines, macros are the way to go. it could be as easy as using a variable (your expansion rate) as a multiplier called up by your "X" move. the variable definition would be at the top of the program...

    Picking dimensions for inspection list

chicopee, armed with your initial post I exploded the dims and copy/pasted them into a paperspace mock up of my report and scaled them to fit. it gets me on the ground and running. I can load them in an order that makes sense as it travels through the shop. its a good start, I intend on working...

    Picking dimensions for inspection list

Good morning and thank you for your replies. Chicopee, that seems like an extraordinarily easy way to target the individual dims for each operation as I had envisioned. Since I work with a copy of the "Vault" version, if I mangle my copy, no harm. I intend to give that method a go. Mr JNieman, I...

    Picking dimensions for inspection list

Hello, I have recently come back to the world of methods engineering and have been tasked with formalizing an inspection program. the forms and requirements are easy, getting the operators to fill in dimensions and tolerances is a little more challenging. Lurking about here and other forums...

    Polar coordinates

thats it! thanks ipseifert, sorry i didnt get to it sooner, i had a machine fail and had to get dirty! that is certainly the way for me to go, and maybe add a tweak thanks to all

    Polar coordinates

Chris, Thanks, yes I did In the help section the only polar coord. item is for describing (inserting) points, I'am looking to put the arc and rad on the part print as a dim I may not be calling it the proper thing, but I've also tried vector's & polar dimmentions, I don't see what I'am looking for.

    Polar coordinates

Hey Guys, I've never posted here, though i've been lurking around for years. I've picked up tons of great ideas and even started fooling with "lisp's", and for that I thank you. Now i need help with polar coordinates, I need to dimention a dwg with angls and radius and cant find anything to do...

part numbers, how many digits do you have?

mrspetos, we use rather large numbers. we also have a large number of possible parts. as a manf'er of food processing machs. each machine is "custom". we use 5digits-3digits. for example, heat seal assemblys are in the 65000 range, heat seal plates are in the 65500 range.it is further...
