This statement is found in one of our specifications for a diesel generator fuel oil transfer system. I am checking the spec. out to find omissions, errors, etc.
We are using NO. 2 fuel. The equipment, not including the day tank, is to be outside, in the yard. The day tank will be inside of a...
Though I am not myself a civil engineer I work with civil engineers. I was talking to one this morning who is driving between two offices an hour apart to work on three projects! I know there are those among you who have worked on more than that at one time so please don't regale me with your...
Thanks, jjf1. Your answer provides me with some insight into contract negotiation that I did not know before. Always stuff that is good to know.
I would like an answer specific to the nuclear industry, as in what is directed (dictated) by the NRC. Does the NRC expect to view licensing...
Help me to understand what is common practice when bidding a nuclear project.
a. I work at a construction contractor that has been in the nuclear business for at least 50 years.
b. We are in the process of bidding a contract.

Is it better to use a 'seed' file, that is a file that uses the configuration from a previous project, as the basis for a new project OR is it better to start each project from scratch?
I have found in the past that when a project uses a seed file based on a previous project, more often than...
Has anyone else been using the Calculation Module? In using the module for control valve sizing I have found that when calculating values for low flow conditions (around 1000 gpm) the Cv that I get seems to be erroneous.
I used a second program called QuickSize from Dresser and the value...
Update;
I have been told by our INtools administrator that, to avoid these locked tag numbers, everyone using INtools should close the plant/project within INtools first and then close INtools itself. Avoid closing INtools when the project (and thus, the database) is open in INtools.
Cheers!
Update:
I spoke with one of the techs who called me after I posted this problem on the INtools Knowledge Base at http://ppocrm.intergraph.com/ecustomer/start.swe?SWECmd=Login (I believe you need a customer subscription through your company to get this).
The tech told me that the INtools server...
I'm with csweb. I have seen but two or three subjects dealing with INtools and the rest have concerned instrument calibration.
Is this an INtools forum or not?
I know that no one else is editing that particular tag. I am certain it is locked on its own.
Aside from that the information in my original post is all I know about it.
Does anyone happen to know how to unlock an instrument tag number? I have one that has been locked since yesterday so I can't edit it.
All I can tell everyone is, whenever I try to open the datasheet I am told the tag number is locked and the sheet never shows. If I try to edit it from the...
I am working at a small thermoforming company. Sadly, this company has not established a sound OSHA procedural method and needs to update it.
In everyone's opinion, is it best to have the Operations Manager actually record AND TRACK (using the log form 300) the injurys OR is it best to have...
Still depressing when I think about how much work all that involves. But, engineer = detail-oriented.
Good input! Thank you. I feel my brain getting bigger bigger by the second!
