Greetings All;
Looking for some insight into design guidelines for making a hydraulic buffer. Volume of oil to be displaced, orfice size and qnty, spring force, etc. all need to be calculated in order to design buffer rate, stroke length and return for the required application. Rather than...
Greetings Rubber head Guru's
We are accomplished molders but have never ventured into the thick section molding. I currently have a contract to mold a 6"diameter by 8.5" cylinder (top and bottom edges have a 2" radius fillet). I'm searching for info on cure times, more or less shrinkage due to...
Thanks TVP- The extruded shape is about as bad as one could imagine... It is a "C" shaped cross section with a working length of 6" and 12" approximately. The extrusion is then machined to add multiple holes and grooves long the length. Our biggest concern isn't tolerance of the extrusion but...
Greetings-
We're currently subcontracting to have a shaped extrusion machined for a military assembly we are under contract to produce. Over the length (8" and 12")the flatness is pretty critical. I'm curios the advantages of a cold drawn vs an extrusion of the grade aluminum listed above...
We run a very soft TPE (0-3 shore A) and could help you. This is not a castable product but could run prototypes and production for you if interested. You may contact me at mikesolutions@aol.com

Picture a timing belt cut and laid open. You can't extrude this because of the teeth, however, we need to do this in contiuous lengths. therefore, contiuous molding...
Greetings;
(Part 1)
I'm looking for an RMA equivalent for plastic molded components indicating what tolerances are reasonable for given dimensions and geometries. I know the Society of Plastics Industry, Inc publishes something by material. Does anything else exist?

We have an opportunity to mold a long hollow tube that has an inside diameter so small that typical injection pressures would bend a core pin. I've thought about lost core or some type of two piece molding effort where we would mold 1/2 of the tube and them mold thenmold the secong half to it...
I have an opportunity to produce continuous length molded strips of a TPE. A concept is in hand that appears it will work, however, before investing in technology, I'd like some feedback on existing methods you are using. Anyone care to comment and keep us from "reinventing the...
Thanks Chris;
We have ACAD14 and can view dwg and dxf files extensions with no problem. I cannot open and view iges files through acad and am looking for a way to do this. Many times these are sent to us from customers.
Thanks

We have a 25,000 sqft facility and do custom molding. Currently their is no conditioning on the shop floor. As you can imagine, the middle of august is tough. I'm researchingoptions and companies to help me through the analysis of what would be suitable for conditioning this area and...
For now we are running ACAD14 and need an IGES file translator/ viewer. Anyone know of any downloadable viewers etc. that might be used? If not please advise inexpensive options or viewing.
Thansk and God Bless

Greetings;
We have a customer who is asking us to overmold a thermoset material (nitrile) onto a PEP (or equivalent) plunger that works in compressor applications. The plunger measures about 1" in diameter. Our thermoset molding process would require 6-8 minutes at a mold temp of 380F. Can...
