What do you mean by "Semi finished Nut"?
I look throuh some codes, ASME B18.2.1 & ASME B18.2.2.
There you can find reference to "Semi finished Nut",
but you can't find any explation on what "Semi finished Nut" means.
Please let me know.
I have this bolt/nut specification.
SBN-FULL THD UNC (ISO) A453-660 HVY-HEX-NUT SEMI-FIN 8UN-ANSI GR-2AB
I think this spec. specifies A453-660 bolt and A453-660 nut.
But I don't seem to know the meaning of "GR-2AB", because theres is
no grade like "GR-2AB" in ASTM A453.
Please let me know...
14" and larger at class 2500 is not supported by
in ANSI/ASME B16.5.
Please let me know the web site that can give me the
DWG of the flanges 14" and larger at class 2500.
How ductile iron(A395) valve rating is determined?
I made a multiple choice question as follows.
Please give me an answer.
If you think the answer is c, let me know the code reference related to this question, please.
a. It is defined according to ASME B16.42 ductile iron pipe flanges and...
I saw a valve part specification like this.
"Key: Carbon steel, A108-1045"
But you can't find 1045 in ASTM A108.
So I think this is a customry notation, combined with ASTM and AISI. Then, if want to know about this material, what publication do I have to look up?
I think if you are to apply BS 6364, it is in addition to API 598.
I think testing will go as follows.
You test the valves in accordanc with API 598.
(Let's say we are talking about Group 2.2 material
like A182-F316. We are going to test hydrostatically,
no pneumatic test that...
There are several types of butterfly valve, lug type, single flanged type, double flanged type, wafer type.
The questions are as follows.
1. When do you use lug type?
2. When do you use wafer type?
3. When do you use single flanged type?
4. When do you use double flanged type?
I know that A53-B is not as good as A106-B.
But I don't know how A53-B is different from A106-B.
I think, maybe, the difference is in the making process and carbon content.
Or in the some other element content.(Somebody says that A53-B contains more
Si than A106-B does.)
What is the difference...
What do you mean by following sentence?
"For blind flanges and blanks, T shall be 1/4 of the flange thickness"
in ASME B31.3, FIG 323.2.2A, Note(6)
Somebody says like this.
"If you have 40mm plate, you divide it by 4 and you get
10mm. With this 10mm, you read the graph of FIG 323.2.2A."
What he...
When do you specify SWEEPLET?
I mean, what's the difference between SWEEPLET vs WELDOLET?
This is the theory I found so far.
With weldolets, you may have a lot of weld metal melted between header
and branch. A lot of weld metal causes distorsion of main pipe.
So you do not use weldolet, when...
How do you make an elbow whose size is 1-1/2" & below, with bevel end?
Maybe you don't make it with forging, like A105 material.
Instead you make it with wrought steel, like A234-WPB.
It seems to me, even if it's a small size, the end type depends material you are using.
Size does not seem to...
There are many valve trims in API STD 600.
When do you specify #1(13Cr)?
And when do you specify #8(13Cr/HF)?
I mean what is the selection criteria of valve trim?
Is it related to service fluid or temperatrue, pressure?
What flange do yoy use at sizes over 60"?
Related condition is as follows.
Service is process, not utility. The rating is CL 150.
Weld neck flange is required.
Maybe you use Taylor Forge Flange.
If you do use Taylor Forge Flange, where do you get dimensional data of the flange?
Bolt holes...
What's the difference between A194-4 and A194-2H?
Another words, which one do you prefer to use A194-4 or A194-2H, when pipe material is A335-P11 at 470 Deg. C?
